Error's POV:
"I have had just about enough of you, Error!" Ink yelled as he jumped out of a portal, giant paintbrush in hand. "You keep destroying these innocent AU's, and for what? Fun!?" Ink spat as he threw red paint at me. I've become really good at dodging those ones, they hurt.
I didn't want to fight Ink, but he gave me no choice. I've tried explaining thing to him many times, but he just won't listen. I hate it.
It's a vicious cycle; Ink creates an AU and I'm forced to destroy it or risk the Multiverse collapsing, Ink gets mad at me and starts attacking me, I defend myself and try to talk to Ink, Ink won't listen and then one of us leaves. It's the same each time, it repeats itself again and again and again. It's just like when the human resets, except everyone remembers.
Watching Ink slowly destroy the Multiverse is like watching the human murder my brother and friend reset after reset after reset and everything just begins to blur together - well it would be if I had them, they were taken from me a long time ago and the closest thing I have to 'family' now is Nightmare and his gang, however dysfunctional they are. I will not allow my family be taken from me again.
I've had enough of this, and I'm going to do something about the cycle.
I needed to end this fight quickly, before Dream showed up. I know I could handle it, but I didn't need both of them screaming at me... the voices in the Anti-Void are bad enough.
I sent some of my strings at Ink, distracting him long enough to grab him with another couple from above. I ripped his paintbrush out of his grasp and threw it a good few meters behind him. I had him now...
I could kill him...
I smiled.
I could end this...
Grinning like a Cheshire cat, I tightened my strings around Ink, making him wince in pain.
Killing him would mean I could be free. I wouldn't have to destroy...
I could be happy...
Maybe the voices would stop...
But...
My smile fell.
But that would destroy the Balance... and in turn the Multiverse...
I couldn't kill Ink even if I actually wanted to. A tear formed on the edge of my eye socket. Ink's eye sockets widened as I wiped it away and more appeared. I laughed dryly.
I set Ink down gently on the ground near his paintbrush and teleported into the half-destroyed forest. I didn't want to go back to the Anti-Void yet, the voices would start screaming at my weakness and inability to kill Ink. I stumbled into a clearing and began pacing in front of the solitary tree in the center of the clearing, cursing my very existence.
After a while I stopped pacing and just sat down under the tree. I buried my skull in my hands and sighed. If only I could get Ink to understand.
The loud snap of a twig in front of me brought me back to reality. My skull snapped up to where the sound had come from. Ink and Dream stood in front of me. Neither of them looked very happy, yet they didn't look angry either. They both had one of those looks that said they were up to something, and when that happens to involve me somehow it never ends well for anyone.
I got up and was about to make a glitchy portal back to the Anti-Void, but was stopped by one of Dream's arrows being shot past my head an into the tree behind me. I glitched. If I'm not careful I'll end up crashing.
"Error...?" Ink hesitantly called out my name, but I didn't answer. "Error!" I was glitching worse than usual and my eyes were beginning to cloud with the word 'ERROR'. It was getting difficult to stand still and quite painful. I wasn't sure if I'd end up glitching myself out of existence at this rate.
If there's one thing I don't want to do it's crash in front of the two monsters that hate me the most.
"Err.r?" Ink called out again. I growled in annoyance, he's only making it worse for the three of us. " Er..r!?" I had hoped that he'd take the hint and shut up, but no, he had to keep talking. I let out a glitched cry before I crashed. This was not how today was supposed to go.

Ink's POV:
Dream had arrived just as Error teleported away, which had been pretty good timing. I'm glad he showed up when he did because it would have taken ten times longer to find Error if he hadn't.
I was utterly confused, Error had shown Mercy - I just couldn't comprehend it.
Dream said that Error had had a massive spike in negativity after he had teleported, but I didn't expect to find the Destroyer of AU's curled up under a tree mumbling incoherently about something.
Dream stepped on a twig, making it snap loudly. This startled Error and he quickly stood up, obviously quite uncomfortable with being caught off guard. He seemed too surprised to even think about summoning a weapon.
Error turned slightly, he was clearly going to try and make a portal out of this AU, but, before he could Dream shot an arrow past his skull and into the tree Error had previously been curled up under. Error's glitching got noticeably worse.
"Error...?" I called out hesitantly. Error didn't respond so I called out again. "Error!" His glitching got worse and his eyes began to cloud up with the word 'ERROR'.
Slightly confused by what was happening, I called his name again. "Error?" I was hoping he could explain what was happening, but instead of words a low, almost feral growl of annoyance answered my question. Error's face contorted in pain. "Error!?" I said, trying to get his attention.
Before Dream or I could say or do anything else a sudden, pained, glitchy cry erupted out of Errors mouth and he fell to his knees, clawing at his skull. After a few moments of painful silence, Error's body seemed to just give up as the rest of him hit the floor with a dull thud.
"..."
"..."
Dream and I stood in shocked silence, staring at Error's collapsed form unsure of what just happened and what to do about it.
"What... just... happened...?" Dream asked, he was just as confused as I was.
"I have... no idea whatsoever." I replied. "This... this has never happened before." I said gesturing to Error.
Loosely tying Error up with paint, I filled Dream in fully on what had happened during our fight. I didn't think Error could do anything that would cause significant damage to anything once he... Woke up?
Once Dream was caught up I began fixing the AU - leaving Dream to watch Error.
This has certainly been an eventful day.
