"Wh-What??"

Olivia didn't even get the chance to process the amount of danger she was in. The chance for her mind to connect the sight of his face, to the image she'd seen many times on the news. No chance to run.

And no chance to say goodbye.

All I heard was a soft hissing sound, followed by a faint smell i couldn't quite recognize. "What the-" Olivia began to question the man, but stopped mid-sentence, breaking into a fit of giggles. She doubled over, coughing and laughing hysterically as she grabbed at the sides of her head. "(Y/N)!" She choked out between the uncontrollable laughter. "Run!! Ahahaha! GET OUT OF HERE!!"

The man didn't move or make a sound. Just stood there, watching her with this grin. His eyes shifted to meet mine and I almost couldn't tear myself away from his gaze. There was no remorse, or even anger in his eyes. Not even pleasure. Just...amusement.

"RUN!!"

Olivia snapped me out of the short trance it seemed I was under. Tightly clutching the pillowcase full of money in my hand, I turned and ran straight for the sliding entrance doors. I didn't hear him follow me, but I wasn't about to wait for him to start.

That was him. That was definitely him. The guy from all those news articles. Fuck! Why didn't we notice it sooner?!

I unlocked the car and practically dove into the driver's seat, slamming the door closed as soon as my feet were in. What about Olivia? Do I wait for her? Yeah sure, wait for that psycho to catch up to you. Smart thinking. She told me to get out of here. I turned the car on and peeled out of there, while also trying not to draw attention to myself. Last thing I need is to get pulled over with all this stolen money in the car. After about fifteen minutes of driving I was finally in a different area of town. It was a bit more sketchy, but the cops rarely come by here and it was a shorter route to my house. The sooner I got home the better.

Knowing I couldn't just pull up to my house in Olivia's car, with a bag full of money and without Olivia, I pulled over into a semi-empty parking lot. The lot of some long closed and forgotten store, now probably just used for late night hook-ups in the back of cars, or drug deals. Luckily, tonight it was only occupied by one empty car that looked like it hadn't been touched in years. Or so I thought.
I parked the car and made sure several times that everything was locked and closed. I'll just come back for it in the morning and look for her, if she hasn't contacted me by morning.. The usual soft thud of the car door closing seemed to echo loudly throughout these empty alleys and streets. My house was only a few blocks away, but it felt like miles in the darkness.

"Heyyy there uh...toots."

I froze in place. There were no cars, no people walking by. Where could that voice have come from? That masculine, rough and somehow seducing voice that seemed to fill the space around me. It wasn't until i heard the footsteps behind me, that I turned and saw him walking out of the shadows of the alley. He had his hands tucked into the pockets of his long purple jacket, strands of his green hair covering his face as he curiously tilted his head to the side. "Are ya happy to see me?"

My first instinct was to reach for the knife in my pocket, but I guess he saw my hand moving toward it. Before I could get my hand into my pocket he took a step closer, raising his left hand to rhythmically shake his finger side to side. "Tut-tut... You don't wanna do that." His other hand lifted slightly out of his pocket, revealing Olivia's pistol.

"You know what they say. Uh.. never bring a knife to a gun fight."

"Wh-what do you want from me? The money? Look, you can have it. It's in the car. Just...please tell me she's okay.."

"Why don't we go for a drive? We can talk alll about it on the way. Well. I'll talk. You'll listen."

Maybe I could make a run for it. My house isn't far. Would he try to drag me from my home, with the neighbors watching? Would he hurt my mother? This is a man that's terrorized the town and it's people countless times. No remorse, no reason. I couldn't let anyone else get hurt. And deep down, even though I wouldn't admit it, I was curious. Curious how his mind worked. Even more curious about...other things.

"Well-ah.. shall we go then?"

"After you."
