It's Been a Long Time...

Hello,

We're not sure who will be reading this, and if anyone will read it through. If you're here: thank you.

Tonight I spent some time reading through the comments on each chapter of Timeless. There are comments from 2014, '15, and '16. Reading through them made me incredibly emotional, many of them moved me to tears. I wanted to reiterate how thankful Megan and I are for everyone that has even taken the time to read one chapter, let alone all of them AND left such incredible comments. We appreciate them to this very day.

The last update on Timeless was from August of 2015, nearly 3 years ago. In August of 2015 Megan and I were about to enter our junior years of high school. Now as I write this, February of 2018, it has clearly been a long time since. Megan and I graduated from high school in June of 2017. We are still best friends, maybe even closer than before. We have grown up together, and that unfortunately meant growing away from One Direction, Larry Stylinson, and Timeless.

At the time of our last update in 2015, we had already moved away from 1D, Larry, and Timeless and were planning on simply changing the character names in Timeless to make it a story for everyone rather than just fans of One Direction/Larry Stylinson. But we weren't giving up on Timeless entirely because the truth is: we love this story. We still do. We still talk about Timeless today, and we still want to rewrite it at some point.

Megan and I started planning and writing Timeless in December of 2013, at the time we were both 15 years old. Now we are 19. Re-reading it now, we cringe at our writing, our word use, our quick-paced character development, etc. We've grown tremendously as people and writers and have taken on other project since Timeless was put on the back burner in 2015.

But one thing hasn't changed, and that is our passion for writing and our passion for this story. Timeless has so much more to come! We have the store entirely planned out from start to finish, and to be honest the 20-ish chapters we uploaded was just the start to something wildly beautiful! We still have so much passion for the incredible love story we crafted as young teens, and we aren't letting go of this idea.

What made me (Peyton) write this was a lot of things. I found our old YouTube channel, and came back to Timeless itself. The writing makes me cringe but the comments filled my heart. I can't even put into words what I was feeling, I could literally feel my heart swell. We are so passionate about writing and at such an early stage we accumulated the most incredible, loyal readers and we thank you to this very day. The comments you readers have left are so powerful, so beautiful, and your words will honestly stay with us forever as we continue to write.

We also want to apologize. Rereading your comments has reminded us just how much Timeless meant for a lot of you, and we are so sorry we let it go the way we did. Life came at us in all different directions, both in negative and positive ways. Like I said, we've grown exponentially as human beings. What we really need to do is rewrite Timeless from scratch, using the skills we've accumulated in the 5+ years since we began writing. But Timeless meant so much to you, and we realize that now. We are so sorry we left it. You were dependent on us. We provided joy, excitement, lots of angst, and an escape for many of you. We are sorry we took that away from you.

Megan and I want to thank you all. Logging back onto WattPad for the first time in years we have many notifications, some even from just 3 weeks ago. We didn't think anybody would find Timeless in 2018, let alone add it to a reading list. But we thank you all, from the bottoms of our hearts, both as the young Larry-obsessed high schoolers we were, and as the young adults and writers we've grown to be.

We will still be writing. Maybe not Timeless, but writing something. And neither Megan nor I want Timeless to die. We really do love this story. We have outlines and drafts and notes saved on our computers, and some day we are going to pick it back up and start from scratch. We just want to say thank you. Imagine someone telling you that you are AMAZING at your dream job/your favorite thing in the world. That is exactly how we feel, it is beyond words. We both dream of being writers, and you beautiful people have truly fueled our dreams.

Thank you for reading this.

Love,
Megan and Peyton
