Hikari Sanctuary
'Clear!' said an alto voice. I felt electricity flowing through my body. Every shock my body received made me wide awake.
'Ouch! What the hell dude! That hurts a lot!'
'You're welcome,' said the girl previously with her tongue sticking out. 'Want another round of shocks?' She was holding some sort of device which can shock people with electricity.
'That's enough of shocking people for the day, Anaya.' An old funny man, with flying goggles ( is that what you call it?) came up to her with a friendly and warm smile. Neither scrawny nor fat describe him. He isn't thin like the old people I see in the coffee shop back home.
Anaya nodded her head but with a disappointed expression on her face.
I sat up and looked around. The comfortable black leather recliner that I was on stood in the middle of a circular room where walls were LCD screens. The entire ceiling was a light source which emitted white light. The cold wind from the air conditional made me shiver.
'W...Where a...am I?' My words came out like I'm freezing. Oh wait. I am.
'Not used to the cold, are you?' She took out a piece of gum from her pocket, plopped it into her mouth and chew it. She no longer wore the white cloak. Instead, she wore a plain green shirt and a pair of long jeans.
'W...what do you expect?' I gave a loud sneeze. 'I... grew up in... Ah chiu! a tropical c...c..country, where temperature is barely... Ah chiu! less than 30 degree Celsius. Someone p..p...please get me a..a.. b...blanket. How cold is... Ah chiu! this thing blowing?' My nose started to clog up and breathing in air isn't easy. Every time I breathe in, my nose gave that sniffing sound.
'It's only 23 decrees down here. Besides, get your own blanket.' Her amber eyes looked at me as if she wanted to murder me or feed me to the wolves.
'Now, now kids. No fighting here. Anaya, please be a nice girl and go get a blanket for this poor freezing soul here?'
'No.' She just stood there and refused to move.
'Would you please?' Anaya rolled her eyes. How can she leave when there are no doors, no windows? She moved herself, still having that reluctant spirit, and walked towards a white control panel.
'Commence teleportation,' she said.
'Please specify your destination,' said the device in a female computer voice. It sounded like Siri.
'Department of fluffy blankets and pillows.' She went up a platform and disappeared.
The old man walked up to me and he put his hands on my head.
'Hey! What are you doing?'
'I'm surprised that you haven't realized that this thing is on your head.' He was holding a metal hat which has two antenna sticking out at the top. There were three coloured LED on it.; red on the most left, yellow at the middle, green at the most right.
'This is a mind reader. By its name of course, you can tell its function. It reads minds and dreams. This machine here detects any brain activity, uses these nerve impulse and translate them into something the machine understands.
'After translation, the machine will sent wireless transmission to the screen, which projects the image of your mind or dream. Let me demonstrate.' He put the mind reader on his head and began to think of something. The Green LED was lit and a picture of a delicious chicken pie was shown on screen.
Moments after being fascinated later, Anaya came out from the fancy Teleport thingy with a blanket. She threw it towards me and I caught it. It was soft and smelled like lavenders. I covered myself with it and I felt warm.
