No one answered the door. Anaya knocked again with anxiety, but still no one opened or replied. She knocked again and again. Her fist banged the door with aggression.

'Calm down Anaya. You're going to break the door.' She ignored me and continued to break down the door.

'It's not like him. He always answers the door.'

'Well, he might be out or having a constipation in the toilet.'

'He will leave a note on the door, even he is in the toilet.'

'Let's check if the door is lock or not?'

'No. Have you not learn any manners? Breaking into someones house isn't just violating the rules, it's also being rude.'

'I didn't say "break in". I said to check. Anyways, he said to meet in his office.' I emphasized the word in. I turned the doorknob and it was opened. 'You could have saved your energy.' I walked in. Anaya rolled her eyes and trailed behind me, mumbling.

Inside was a rectangular room. There was a wooden desk with a semi circular object peeking out of the table, wondering who was there, stood in the middle of the room. The leather office chair looked at the  silk curtains which was blocking out the sun. I walked around the area looking under the sofa and behind the bookshelf for people. Of course, there was no one. I put Anaya's blanket on the sofa.

'Well, there is really no one he-' I put my hand on the fire place. accidentally pushing one of the candle stand. Instead of falling, it sort of leaned 45 degrees. The sound of gears was heard.

'OWEN! WHAT DID YOU FREAKING DO?!' Anaya started yelling at me. The place shook a little. Books started to fall off from the shelve.

'I just activated a lever?'

The fire place had a blackout and a back panel opened, revealing a spiral staircase submerging into the dark.

As I lay my foot onto the stairs, torches lit with flames. I continued my journey down th stairs.

'Owen! You get back here immediately! You know how much trouble are we going to be in?'

'Trouble? More like an adventure. Coming?'

Anaya looked around the room and put her hands in her pocket.

'Fine, but,' she took a breath and continued, 'If we get caught or get into deep trouble, I'm going to hurt you a lot.'

'Whatever.'

~~~
The panel behind us shut tight with a loud 'thud'.
Every five step we made, torches in front of us lit up and those that we passed extinguished. As I move, my hand brushed against the rough stone walls.
'This place must be ancient.' Anaya said with a amusing tone.
We kept going and going, as if the stairs were endless.
'Owen. Are you sure we are going the right way?'
'Of course. You see, I've been down here quite some times now.' I said in a scarcastic voice.
'Do you have to be sarcastic now?'
I set foot on the wrong step and I fell, rolling down the stairs like a ball.
'Owen!' Anaya cried.
Look at the bright side. At least I've found an end to these stairs and realized how horrible the floor tasted.
