The bell had rung five times since the horrific incident when school begun and it was now break. Rosetta and the girls were looking at Mia, waiting to hear her genius plan. Rosetta already knew what it was, she had heard it the moment it came to Mia's head. She didn't mean to but it was just so loud that she couldn't ignore it.
They were at the benches, the usual spot, and the Charming Boys were nowhere in sight so they were probably still hiding from the Cutie Girls. After they had taken their seats, Mia stared at each friend individually for a few moments.
"What do the Charming Lads fear the most in the world?" Mia smirked at all her friends as they all took a moment to think about it.
"Bad hair."
"Detention."
"Reputation."
"The inevitable doom to this temporary life that would make everything we've worked, everything we've suffered, pointless in the long term as our legacies will mean nothing."
"Yes to all of them but not the answer I was looking for," Mia replied, eyeing Rosetta worriedly as she looked off into the distance. "I was talking about the Cutie Girls." Everyone nodded in realisation.
"The plan is to act like the Cutie Girls, like actually try to be pretty and stuff and then scare the boys away with our desire for commitment and attention with hints of mood swings," Mia explained as they all listened attentively. "But before we can do that, we need them in our grasps so that they can never forget how bad we are. If possible, we have to be worse than the Cutie Girls."
The Flutter Friends started to give Mia an applause for her brilliant scheming mind. Annabelle and Fiona were so flabbergasted at this well thought out plan while Rosetta and Delilah just sat there, looking at Annabelle and Fiona
"Or we could just handle this maturely and tell them we're not interested," Delilah suggested but by all the dumb founded looks she got, she just sighed. "Or we could do Mia's plan." Everyone nodded at that and Delilah just shook her head. Rosetta preferred Delilah's plan but just nodded along with the others. She knew disagreeing with them would be fruitless.
"If we're going to do this correctly, we're going to need some organisation. Whom are we going with?" Annabelle asked but she continued talking. "I think we should just go with whoever gave us the roses. If I have to suffer through more love sonnets for- wait, how long is this going to take?"
"I was planning to just ask them out to the Winter Ball and then go on a couple dates between now and then and by the time the Ball pops up, they'll be wishing they went with the Cutie Girls," Mia said proudly, obviously believing her plan will work.
"Two months of love sonnets," Annabelle uttered, fear in her eyes. Fiona grabbed her by the shoulders and stared into her eyes.
"Two months of hell or eternal hell?" She questioned her, shaking her a little. Annabelle nodded fiercely, gaining her original confidence in the plan.
"Two months of hell," Annabelle said with determination and the Flutter Friends high fived each other. Even Delilah was beginning to get pumped up with this plan.
"So when do we actually do all of this?" Fiona asked.
"We have to do it tomorrow. If the Charming Lads are successfully hiding from the Cutie Girls, girls who can find any missing bobby pins in your hair, we have no chance to talking to them today," Rosetta explained then made a dramatic sigh.
"What's wrong, Rosey?" Fiona asked, as Rosetta leaned down on the bench, resting her head on top of her elbows.
"I don't know, don't you guys feel a little bad for planning to make their love lives even more miserable? I mean, they have to suffer through the Cutie Girls, imagine the girls they actually like turning to be worse than them. Wouldn't you hate that?"
The Flutter Friends took a moment to reflect over her words, then they begun laughing.
"How could the boys possibly like us? I mean, like..." Annabelle couldn't continue the sentence before she stated laughing again. The idea that an ordinary guy, much less a Charming Lad, could romantically be interested in them seemed absurd.
"Yeah... Impossible," Rosetta mumbled. She knew that the boys had been interested in them for a while and she had told the girls beforehand but, like now, they just thought it was a joke. It was clear the plan was going forward.
"We'll begin tomorrow."
