Mirthful Circumstances

8: Eventually, the truth comes out.

“You know, I think it would be wise to leave that old hag of your wife for someone young.. someone fresh.” I heard Paris say as she leaned into Joseph.

I kept a small smile on my face as I continued to do my work.

Breathing calmly, or as calmly as I could make it.

“I'm sure she doesn’t know how to please a man like you. Someone as hot as you deserves a woman equally as hot.” She all but whispered. She was sitting on his desk right in front of him.

He smirked as he looked at me, making me blush.

“Oh trust me, she is hot enough. And she knows how to please me better than anyone.” He said in a cocky tone.

Paris seemed taken aback by his subtle answer; she pouted but continued to run her hands all over his chest.

I growled inside of me, and somehow joseph knew what I was doing. He smiled at me before turning to her.

“Paris, we are in class. I am your teacher, and I love my wife will all my heart. Don’t you think its kind of pointless you continued this silly quest you have.” He said while grabbing onto both her wrist, stopping her from touching him.

I growls again. That’s my man.

She continued to smile as she pulled her hands away from him, thinking it was probably her inhuman strength that released her, when h was probably not even holding on tight enough. Because if I got ahold of her wrist, I would break them in half.

“I know you want me Mr. Night.” She said while smiling one last time before jumping off his desk. “and it’s only a matter of time before you realize it. I want you, and I always get what I want.” She said while walking away, putting way too much emphasis on her hips.

He had a sly smile on his lips as she walked away. I scowled and snapped my fingers to get his attentions.

I sent him a look saying ‘don’t let this get into your head’

He smiled at me then, teeth and all, my heart melted knowing I could never be that mad at him… for more than a day, because if he looked at her like that again I was going to cause him some serious damage.

“What did I do?” I heard someone say.

I turned to look at Landon and Kim. She was trying to do her work while Landon continued to pester her with stupid questions.

“Nothing, I just don’t feel like I should be in any kind of relationship, now or never.” She said with a cocky attitude as she continued to do her work.

“but we’re not even going out?” he questioned her, making her blush because she was jumping to conclusions.

She turned to glare at him before talking again. “you were flirting with me, that usually means a guy want something more with the female he is flirting with.” She said.

I chuckled and walked over to them. “or he could be a complete man whore who doesn’t know how to say no.” I said while sitting on Kim’s desk.

She looked at me with relief.

“This had nothing to do with you.” He said while looking at me. “Kim and I were having a perfect conversation without you.” He said with a scowl.

Damn, Landon seemed more like a bitch.

“au contraire” I said while smiling. “Kim here is my best friend, and if anyone is bothering her.” I said while leaning into him. “anyone at all, I will beat them to a bloody pulp until they decide to leave her alone.” I said while scowling at him,

Our faces were inches apart as I glared at him.

He didn’t move, he wasn’t afraid. But then again, he thinks I'm human, and he thinks he can beat me up without hesitation.

“What’s going on here?” I heard joseph say, way too closely for my liking. I was currently mad at him and having him this close made me forget that. But I was determined to stay mad.

I turned to smile at him sweetly, “nothing Mr. Night. Landon and I were simply having a civilized conversation, isn’t that right Landon.” I said while looking at him.

He seemed shaken up as he nodded slowly, as if had just seen a ghost.

“Emma and I have to go to the rest room.” I heard Kim say as she grabbed onto my hand and pulled me out of the room.

We walked out of the room and towards the bathroom. But soon after I heard the same door open and close again.

“Wait” I said while stopping, I pulled Kim into a supply closet and waited until I heard the footsteps pass the door, knowing all too well their scent now.

“What are we doing?” I heard Kim whisper.

I smiled at her before putting my finger to my mouth, trying to shush her.

Her complied with a scowl.

As soon as I knew they were far away enough I got out of the closet and followed their scent. Only to find then walking outside of the school gate.

“What are they doing?” I whispered to myself.

“Maybe leaving home.” I heard Kim say.

I sighed before following them, using my vampire speed and agility to remain unseen.

“Trust me I know what I saw” I heard Landon say.

Paris laughed for a couple seconds before turning to him. “How can that girl be a vampire? She’s too stupid to be one.” She said while walking.

Landon scowled. “Trust me.”

Paris stopped walking and turned to pat him on the head. “Oh poor, naive little brother. She is not a vampire, no one in this idiotic town is.” She continued to walk again.

Once they were far away enough Kim turned me around and placed her hands on my shoulders.

“That’s what I was trying to tell you. When you were staring at Landon, well more like killing him with your stare… your eyes turned red.” She said with a shake of her head.

I looked at her like she was crazy for a second, trying to figure out what the hell was happening.
