RECAP

***Michael AKA Iceman POV***

One of the guys caught her as she recklessly jumped into the crowd. She grinned down at him joy shining in her eyes. He looked at her with admiration...and a look I knew all too well. I felt my smirk drop into a snarl as I saw their close contact. Her other gang members crowded around the two talking animatedly to her all at once. The guy holding her lifted her up onto his shoulders. Her head fell back, her long hair flowing as a laugh bubbled up. The guy holding her hand's switched from her ankles to rest on her thighs, higher than I felt comfortable with. At this point in time I felt the need to interrupt the reunion. I walked up, unnoticed by her gang, while my gang watched my every move. I grabbed the guy's hand that was on her thigh and pressed a pressure point that made him yelp in surprise. I grabbed her by the waist and cradle her in my arms. Her small size was such a contrast to her spitfire attitude. Her auburn eyes widened to saucers, as did her mouth. I couldn't help myself. I shifted her slightly in my arms so one arm barred her full weight. Then shut her mouth with a chuckle. The sound seemed to jolt her out of her stupor. she leapt from my arms as if electrocuted making me laugh full out.

***Artemis POV***

I was suddenly pulled from my place on Trent's shoulders, falling into someone arms. I looked up and saw Iceman. My eyes widen. Shit I shouldn't be rejoicing; instead I should be relating the bad news. Iceman shut my open mouth, chuckling as he did so. Returning my focus to all the surprised eyes staring at the two of us. I jumped from Iceman's arms putting distance between us. Jeez where did my attitude go? I've been letting my emotions get the better of me since I walked into this place.

Regaining the boss attitude that I usually held with my gang members. I faced them. Trent took a step forward knowing a speech was coming. He came to stand beside me. But today I held up my hand. Today, I was no one's boss. I looked at all their expectant faces and began.

"I'm grateful to you all for coming for me showing your loyalty and bravery through such an act. But as of now I step down as your boss. I lost my fight. Because of a deal, I am lackey to the leader of this gang. You all are not in any way involved in this deal. If anyone insults you because of this deal, punch them in the face." I paused as a couple of my members laughed then continued. "Until I beat this man, I won't be coming back. While, I'm not your boss. I do recommend making Trent the next gang leader." Silence heavily upon the group. A few look to others in silent question of what now. Trent however came up to me and enveloped me in a hug. Jeez whats up with all the male contact today? But I returned the favor. Giving him a bone-crushing hug. Other members came up after him. Those more familiar with me, giving me hugs which I returned or kneeling and pressing their forehead to my hand. A show of respect only known to our gang. It was one of the acts in our initiation. The last man rolled my Kawasaki up to me, telling me he found it at the side of the building.

Trent straddled his blood-red Honda CBR, shouting, "All right everyone lets head back. Can't leave our place unguarded now can we?" a chorus of rippling engines answered him. Trent turned to me staring me straight in the eye and mouthed we will wait for you. Then he glared behind me before turning and racing off with the gang.
