I swallowed the well desereved soul of a dirty Kishin. My eyes followed the trail of sweat which leaded to my partner, Ryan. We were both tired. It was three in the morning, and we had collected twelve souls today. My meister looked at me and nodded his head,

"Come on, we better get home. I'm tired." He didn't wait for my approval, he could care less about what I thought. Nothing had to be comfortable for me, but for him, everything had to be pefect. The pillows had to be the soft, the house had to be exactly 65 degreese inside, and everything had to look neat. I followed behind Ryan like a lost puppy. Keeping my head down as we moved past several houses. I looked at one of them as a boy with snowy white hair was on his porch with a girl who had dark blonde hair.  The girl smiled at me and waved. I quickley adverted my gaze to the sidewalk. I had drawn attention. Ryan noticed, and he turned to me, raising his hand. In seconds his hand made contact with my cheek. He didn't have to verify his actions, I know why he did it. He did it because I took the spotlight from him, something he didn't like or want me doing. He continued walking. I put my hand on my cheek, making it burn. I flinched and sighed, another bruse to explain to mama in heaven.

I looked up at the same house as before, and I saw what I hated most, pity. They had looks of pity written across their faces. They were the same. I looked back down and whiped away the salty tear that had made it's way down my cheek. We were almost home. Then I could go into my room, lock the door, and cry my pain away,

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ryan flicked on the light. He gave me no directions, so I went to my room. I clicked the lock and walked to my window bench and took a seat. I clutched the peice of jewlery around my neck and cried.
When I finally opened my eyes it was just turning light. I glanced at the digital clock on my nightstand. A quarter past six. Today was the day that we would attend the DWMA. I walked out of my room, no lights were on. That mean that Ryan was still asleep. I nodded to myself and made my way into the bathroom.
I turned on the water in the bathtub and set it to shower mode. I waited as it prepared. I took of my makeup last night so I had no need to do anything with my face at the moment. I heard a quiet ding, the bath was ready.  I stepped in and did what I needed to do.
Thrity minutes later and I was dressed. I had my hair done, and makeup was applied. Now I needed to make Ryan. I walked to the frigde in the kitchen and opened it, looking through it's contents. I decided on eggs, bacon, and toast.
I prepared the food and soon it was in front of Ryan as he ate it quickly. Every morning instead of a thank you for a response, it would be a at least you can do something. Then he would leave the dishes for me as he went to prepare for school. He came down the stairs fully dressed about ten minutes later. He grabbed his wallet and walked out the door, knowing I would follow him.
We walked silently, there was no need to talk. He stopped in front of the DWMA and turned to me. He glanced at me up and down then sneered,
"You must be three steps behind me at all times. Understood?"
"Yes sir. I understand quite well." I answered back. He gave me a nod of approvel and continued on, I waited three steps before taking my own. I sighed quietly and hung my head low. We walked up the staires of the DWMA. Suddendly, Ryan stopped.
The sudden lack of movement caused me to look up and see the same blonde haired girl and the white haired boy. The girl forced a smile,
"Hey! I'm Maka, and this is my partner Soul." She sounded kind. I looked back down. Ryan nodded and gave a small smirk.
"I'm Ryan." He looked at me and hit me in the ribs, causing my head to lift. I looked at him and Ryan gave me the look, "Say your name, idiot."
"O-oh. Right. I'm A-amber Sparks." Stuttering. I'm a stuttering mess in front of people I don't know a damn thing about. Pathetic. Ryan  gave me a look of disapprovale. I looked back down at the gorund. Ryan said move and forced past Maka and Soul. I sighed and followed, bothering to say a excuse me.
I looked around at the people, and noticed someone very familiar looking.
