"Wake up, Emmy," my mom urged with a smile.
"Ugh!" I groaned; I don't want to get up.
"It's Monday and you have school."
"Can I stay home?" I muttered in the pillow.
"No, I have work."
"I don't want to go to school today!"
She layed her hand on my forehead, "are you feeling okay?"
"No," I lied.
She raised an eyebrow, "you feel fine, what's really wrong?"
"Jax," I whispered.
"Honey, you can't just stop going to school because of a boy."
"The guy likes me mom and I'm scared."
"Why?"
"I think I like him but I'm scared he'll be like Harris."
She placed her hand on top of mine, "sweetie, if he really likes you, he won't be like Harris was."
"He's a bad boy, mom and his brother is a player."
She smiled, "honey, I know when you have feelings for someone. I had them too when I was your age."
"What was his name?"
"Justin."
My eyes widened, "Justin Parker?"
"Yea, how did you know?"
"He's Jax's dad!"
"Oh, yea I used to like him in high school."
"Well, I'm glad you didn't marry him."
She laughed, "why is that?"
I rolled my eyes, "you know why."
She batted her eyelashes innocently, "what do I not know?"
I rolled my eyes.
"Invite him to dinner tonight and you can patch things up there."
I groaned; once I was finished getting dressed, my mom dropped me off at school.

"Where were you? You were late," Catyiln interrogated with a frown.
"Um, woke up late," I lied.
She shook her head, "I know you Ems. What really happened?"
"I didn't want to go to school today because of Jax."
"What did he do?!"
I laughed, "I called him my friend and asked about his mom and her 'baby daddy'."
"Don't you mean his dad?"
"No," I muttered under my breath.
She arched an eyebrow, "huh, but his dad is her baby daddy."
"No he isn't but if I told you he will kill me."
"Oh."
"Hey, Jax!" I waved at him.
He ignored me like two divorced parents in a fight.
I jogged over to him, "Jaxass?"
No answer.
"Are you deaf?!" The whole hallway looked at us.
"What do you want? Friend," he gritted his teeth.
"Jax, please?"
"I called you by what you want, Emily. What else do you want from me?!" He spat my name like it was poison. Emily sounded foreign coming from his lips and I hated it, I wanted his nickname for me back.
"Can you come to my house for dinner tonight?"
He raised an eyebrow, "why?"
"Just because my parents are having dinner at the White House and I want you to come."
Nathan intervened, "dinner at the White House huh?"
I nodded.
"What are you having?"
I jumped up and down inside because he was actually considering coming.
"Steak, salad, and probably soda."
He shrugged, "sure."
I smiled, "okay, see you there."
"Yea, friend."
My eyes fell, he still saw me as a friend. Well, I'll apologize to him tonight and make everything better.
I smiled to myself all the way to Mrs. Robitch's class (Jax's and I's name for the SS teacher)
"Does anyone know what river George Washington crossed?"
I groaned, we've been talking about George Washington for two weeks.
Max raised his hand, "Deleware."
"Yes, very good Max."
He grinned a stupid grin, "thank you, Mrs. Robin."
I was scribbling down some songs in my notebook, "what is this?!" Gabriella batted her eyelashes innocently.
I growled, "its mine."
"What's in here?"
"Songs, dumbass," I muttered.
She frowned, "ooh, Emmy who's this one about?"
"I don't know."
"Sure you do, here I'll read it for you. I get lost in those eyes, I go so far I can't breathe. I'm drowning baby, save me. You touch me once and my skins on fire, your fingers trail places I won't let your brother go anymore. I'm falling, falling in love with you, yea baby, I'm falling in love with you.
I'm scared I'll get hurt like he once did to me, but I'll jump in ice water for you. You're my life line, you're my best friend, I'll do anything for you. So tell me, are you falling in love with me? Cuz I'm falling in love with you, falling for you. I'm in love, baby."
I turned bright red, everyone knows it could only be two people and one I hate.
Gabriella smirked, "tell us who its for? Emmy."
"I-I-I," I stuttered.
"Leave her alone, bitch!" Catyiln defended me.
"Or what?"
"Or you'll have black eyes."
"My eyes are brown hun."
A smirk crossed her lips, "exactly."
"Get off her ass Gabriella," Xavier threatened.
"Or what?"
He laughed dryly, "you really want to know?"
I smirked, "Assvier, she doesn't have a sister, so you can't sleep with her."
A chorus of laughter flooded the classroom.
"Shut your mouth, Em."
I grinned michevously, "but I'm a sarcastic bitch, you said it yourself. So how can I shut my mouth?"
He was silent.
Gabriella gave me a devious smile, "I think we all know who the song is about and they had a little conversation in the hallway, didn't you Emmy?"
My eyes darkened, "you're lower than Xavier, you were dating Jax and maked out with his brother," I smirked and whispered in her ear, "if it were me, I'd pick Jax to make out with any day of the week."
Her eyes narrowed but she kept silent.
Jax's eyes met mine and he mouthed, "talk to you later, Emmy bear."
I smiled and mouthed back, "yea, Jaxass."
I saw his mischief and playfulness come back into his chocolate brown eyes.
His lips curled into a devious smile, "hey, Gabriella?"
She looked at him, "yea, handsome?"
"I feel like you should sing the song."
"Why, hun?"
He smirked, "because you sing like a damn goat."
She gritted her teeth, "what the hell did you just call me?"
"I'm sorry that you're deaf and clearly can't hear me over your fucking huge ego but I called you a damn goat."
She smirked and stood up; walking over to Jax and kissing him.
I gasped and my eyes darkened, "what the hell?!"
Jax pushed her off him, "I just called you a damn goat and you hear try to eat my lips off!?"
She scoffed, "you kiss like a damn goat."
He laughed humorlessly, "we both know that's far from the truth."
She stared me right in the eyes, "I would pick the other Parker brother."
Jax arched an eyebrow and I looked at my white converse, they looked pretty interesting right about now.
Xavier spoke up, "we're literally the only people still in hell, so lets go."
We turned to him.
Jax stood and towered over his brother, "you can, but we have shit to do."
"Well, since you and your hoe ruined my Challenger, I can't go home without you."
Fire spread in his eyes like wildfire, "what the fuck did you just call her?!"
He looked up to meet his gaze, "H-O-E."
Just before Jax threw a punch to mess up his brother's already ruined face, I placed my hands on his chest and he didn't stop me.
"Let me handle this?"
He nodded and stepped back an inch but no further.
Xavier looked amused, "you really think you can stop me? I'm a gang leader."
I laughed dryly, "not a very good one," he raised an eyebrow and I went on, "gang leaders don't apologize and practically beg for forgiveness, they don't whine about Challengers they go out and buy a new damn car! Last of all, they don't miss a gang meeting because they're too scared."
He narrowed his eyes, "what the hell do you know about being a gang leader? All you know is how to be a sarcastic bitch!"
"I hang around with them, pretty boy."
Jax growled, "go to your own turf or when we're done with you, you won't be able to get to hell!"
He arched an eyebrow, "are you threatening me?"
He smirked, "fuck no, we're having a friendly conversation."
He muttered something under his breath that no one heard.
Oh thank God Xavier isn't gonna be there or shit will go down.
