Moving

Sighing I looked at what was now my old room. Completely empty. Well it still had my furnishings but everything that was created in this room was about to be gone.

"I know it's hard to let this place go.... it is for me too." Tyler said coming into my room to see if I was ready.

Tears starting to fall," There's just so much that happened here, I don't want to leave it." I said barely getting it out.

"Hey don't you dare start crying because then I'll start and we all know that Tyler and Jaidyn Washington are the only Washington's that don't cry easily." He said as he lightly punched my arm.

"I know." After taking a few seconds to regain myself, "Alright I'm good."

"Thank god." Tyler said sarcastically knowing what my response would be.

Rolling my eyes, "Hey comforting your twin wouldn't have been that bad." I stated laughingly.

That caused Tyler to chuckle and respond with "Of course you would say that. The last person to comfort you was me when, well you." He was able to get out before being interrupted by our father yelling from the first floor "Ty, Jai, we're leaving in five! So hurry up."

I'm glad my father interrupted our conversation because I did not want to talk about our mother. Chuckling, "Well let's go before he loses his shit." Ty said. The phrase that my brother unconsciously used, 'loses his shit', could be interpreted so many ways. Our father would never even think about hurting one of us, never has never will, but sometimes he over stressed about situations he shouldn't. Moving from this house was probably the biggest move for him since our mother died.

As Ty and I walked outside I saw that Jess was already in our fathers truck and our father was waiting for us.

"Ty go make sure all the lights are off and lock the door as you come out." Our father said.

"Yes sir." Ty said turning around without any hesitation.

As we waited for Tyler to get back my father hugged me saying, "I love you JJ."

"I love you too pops."

This is how you knew our father was in pain and not wanting to do something. He never willingly hugged anyone and rarely told people he loved them except his parents and our mother. But he never has to tell me, Tyler, and Jess that he loves us. We know he does and he would do anything for us.

He broke off just as Ty was walking out the door.

"Who's ready to go on a road trip to Kansas?" Tyler cheerfully asked.

My father leaned over and whispered "He's always happy despite the situation isn't he?" "Yea, he is." I answered. Which was followed by a chuckle from our father.

"Before we go I gotta lay down some rules...well not rules but you get my point." We listened with content as he continued. "As you can see Jess is already in my truck, now I have no problem with taking Tyler in my truck as well," he said suddenly looking at me "but to ensure that you don't have a wreck JJ, Tyler is going with you."

My brother screeched out "Yes!" While I at the same time semi-yelled "Hell no!"

"Watch your language Jaidyn." My father said.

I looked at my brother then at my dad, "Dad, no. He is not going with me in my M4. And trust me, I'm not going to wreck this car it's my baby and you make me pay half the insurance on it."

If you don't know what a M4 is it's a BMW. When I was 14 I decided not to get my license until I was 16. It just didn't seem important to me then. When I eventually did get my license my father asked me what brand of car I wanted. I knew I wanted a BMW because Mercedes is trash and well I just wanted a M4. I've just always been drawn to BMW.

"Yea I know, but someone in my truck hasn't been talking to me lately and I'd like to find out why." He said pointing to Jess.

I simply nodded and said "Ok fine."

Tyler was about to say something but then Maddie, his best friend came out from behind our fathers truck.

Knowing that Maddie and Shawn were dating I asked " Maddie where's Shawn?"

Just as I finished I saw Shawn and immediately ran to him hugging him.

"Bestie!" Shawn screeched. Still hugging I kissed his cheek which caused Maddie to come over and say "Alright you two that's enough" breaking us apart.

Shawn immediately started saying "Don't worry, you have nothing to worry about. Jaidyn-"

Knowing what he was about to say I elbowed him in the rib cage before he could finish.

I leaned close to his ear and whispered "She knows because we dated for a bit. Only my father and Ty don't know yet."

"So my girlfriend is your ex?" Shawn whispered back.

"Uh, yes."

"Cool. Are you good with me dating her?"

"Like I said, she's my ex. It's in the past. Though both are you are my best friends, if you ever hurt her I will hunt you down and kill you, and vice versa."

The only people who knew that I was a lesbian was Shawn, Jessica, and of course Maddie being we dated. I wanted the rest of my family to find out from myself as well.

To help get off topic Shawn went over and started talking with Tyler. "I'm gonna miss you JJ." Maddie said.

"Yea I'd miss myself too."

"Oh shut up Jaidyn." Maddie said chuckling.

"No but seriously I'll miss you too Mads."

Giggling Maddie asked "Hey remember when me, you, Jessica, and Shawn got in trouble because we stayed out past 12:00?"

"Yea like it was yesterday." I responded. "That was one of the best nights of my life though." I continued.

" I just saw that my best friend needed a pick me up that day." Maddie said.

"Alright you've had your goodbyes. Time to go now." My father said.

Hugging Maddie goodbye I said " I really am going to miss you." "I know you are, you better text me every day." She said back.

"And you you better text me every hour." I heard Shawn say.

I laughed.

My father got in his truck so Tyler and I got in my M4. Before shutting the door I said "Bye. I love you guys. You better come visit for my fathers birthday."

Both Maddie and Shawn said "We love you guys too." Then Shawn said "And don't worry we're most definitely visiting for your fathers b-day."

I backed up and waited for my father to leave and then followed behind him. As we were pulling out I noticed Shawn's Audi R8 parked where it would've been hidden by my fathers truck. Still I have no idea how neither Ty or I noticed it though.

I got a text and looked at my phone.

Oh and you better find and have more friends other than just me and Shawn when we come down for your fathers birthday. -Mads.

Because I didn't want to text and drive I gave my brother my phone and told him what to reply.
(Authors note: Don't text and drive. It's not okay. I've lost four friends because they were texting and driving.)

Shortly after we were out of town and headed to Kansas ready for our new life.
