(Renney's POV)

I make my way down the street on my skateboard. I was supposed to be at Ben's house by 4! It's already 4:30! God I'm terrible.

I push harder, then suddenly I stopped, abruptly stopped in front of a storm drain that was carved into the curb. It was empty except for two yellow orbs. I put my skateboard onto the curb to make a tiny ramp next to me so it doesn't roll away. I crouched down at the storm drain.

"Well hello there." I greet. This person was in a storm drain, on a cloudless and sunny day. But the weather may change tomorrow, which was what the weather man and woman said.

"Hiya, Renney" the person in the drain had a wavering voice of nature to preteen boy, sounds male tho. Sounds goofy too, maybe a voice used to talk down to people.

"How do you know my name Mr. Storm Drain Man?" I asked curiously, I needed to interact in a special way with strangers. Naturally.

"I know everyone in Derry" He chuckled darkly, his eyes suddenly seeping to a blue as he showed his face slightly in the light of the warm sun.

"Do you know my pals?" I asked curiously.

"Oh yes I do~" the man purred, he was dressed as an old style clown, kinda weird if ya ask me. I couldn't see all of his face tho, only his clothes and his hands that were on the edge of the storm drain.

Then I remembered I have to go to Ben's house!

"Speaking of my friends, I have to go." I stand up straight, dust myself off, and ride away on my skateboard. I stop at Ben's, their bikes littered all over the lawn. I ditch my skateboard onto the lawn on top of Richie's and Bill's bikes.

"RENNEY'S HERE." Richie yelled from the front door that I didn't notice open. I smirk at him and he winked with finger guns my way. We go upstairs into the house, saying hi to Ben's mom and dad. I enter Ben's room to see everyone. Sitting around the room is Mike, Bill, Ben, Beverly, Stanley, Eddie, and now me and Richie. I sit between Richie and Bill.

Ben's room is decorated wall to wall in articles and pictures and maps and news articles about Derry's infamous amount of deaths each year. It's kinda scary to think about how many more kids die here than adults do. And the national average is a fraction of how many deaths we get each year. About 10 times more actually, Ben had said.

"I brought snacks!" Ben's mom popped in with a trey of snacks like she said. Cut triangle ham and cheese sandwiches with juice boxes, and cupcakes with white and pink and red frosting swirled on top of the chocolate and vanilla cakes.

We yell thanks as Richie takes the trey rudely and places it in the middle of us all. I grab a sandwich and nibble on it as I stare out of Ben's bedroom window, I'm a little bored.

Everyone chats ideally in the background as I watch a red balloon float up against the window. It bounces a few times before it spins enough to show words on it:

My Queen

And suddenly it pops, splashing red all over Ben's window. I scream in surprise rather than fear and fall back, hitting my head on Richie's chest, and when I try to get up, my forehead hits the bottom of his chin and now we are all panicking or in pain!

"OW RENNEY WHAT THE FUCK?!!" Richie yelled as he rubbed his chin. I hold my head.

"I WAS STARTLED BY THE BALLOON POPPING YOU POINTY CHINNED GLASSES FROG NERD." I retort angrily.

"W-w-what Ball-ballo-balloon?" Bill asked in his stutters, he can't help it, and it's not that he's scared but rather that it's a condition.

"The balloon on the window. It popped and fucking blood splattered all over the window!" I yelled angrily, frustrated that no one was believing me at the moment.

"What blood?" Beverly asked as she looked out the window, as if there wasn't any red covering the view over the street and front yard. I huff and ignore the blood, or maybe paint, or whatever.

"Fine, don't believe me." I scowl down at the floor. Richie pats my back.

"I believe you" Richie smiles at me.

"Really?" I ask without hope and a lot of doubt.

"HA NOPE. KARMA. NEXT TIME DONT HIT ME WITH YOUR HARD AND LARGE FOREHEAD." Richie flicked my forehead. Making me cringe as I accidentally pushed my back against Bill. He put his arm around me and laughed.

"L-let's just c-c-cal-calm dow-down." I blush as Bill's grip seems to tighten around me. When did Bill get so touchy-feely? Richie pulls me back up into a straight sitting up position, off of Bill.

"It's night, it's late. Let me walk you home." Richie winked at me. I shake my head and look out the window. It's still red but it's night now, seems like we wasted away the day pretty quickly.

"Yeah I gotta go home. Or else my mom will freak." Edds stood up with a slight worried look, like per usual. Soon everyone was leaving on their bikes. Except me with my awesome fucking skateboard.

"So about me walking you home? Can I?" Richie smirked at me with a wiggle of his eyebrows. I nod.

"Sure dork, lets get movin." I waved the others goodbye, passing high fives and fist bumps as I hopped on my skateboard, Richie next to me riding his bike. We speeded down the street.

We reached my house. We stopped at front, I gave Richie a single high five and he's gone with the wind, saying he loves me. Idiot.

I walk inside and say hi to my grandmother, she has always been taking care of me since mom and dad gave me up on the street to die.

"Hello dear, how was your day?" She asked with the same happy and loving smile. I return it as I slip off my shoes and head towards the stairs.

"It was great! Me and my friends got to hang out and talk about Derry's best qualities. And it's worst" I lie.

"Oh when I was young," I pause at the stairs, I want to hear and I don't want to be rude, "I used to fear this clown, because it was always following me and telling me I was to have a daughter who would give birth to the queen of Derry. Ah your mother, when I told her, she put me in a nursing home, foolish girl." She rambled on about how terrible my mom was. I say goodnight and leave up to my bedroom.

The Queen of Derry. I'd rather not be but maybe this clown was the same as the one I saw in the storm drain. I brush my teeth, untie my hair from its ponytail, and undress. I'm now only in a tee and underwear. I turn the lights off and hop into bed. I pull the warm covers over me and smile into the cozy feeling.

As I was falling asleep, getting to lazy to get up. I heard a small click from the window and the swoooop of it being opened, I didn't take any mind as I drifted into a deep sleep.
