"Excuse me, what room is Emily Collins being held?" I asked urgently to the lady at the front desk.
"May I ask your name please?" She said.
"Julián Dominguez, I'm in the emergency contact list." I said as I grew impatient.
"Oh yes, she's in room 124C on the second floor."
I thanked the lady and rushed to the room where Emily is.
I didn't bother to take the elevator because it's too slow for me, so ran up the stairs.
Please be okay, please be okay.
Once I reached her room I stopped before opening the door.
I steadied myself and took a deep breath.
I grabbed onto the handle and slowly opened the door and walked in.
My heart stopped beating for a split second.
"Oh god..."
She's hooked up to a big machine with a mask on her mouth allowing her to breathe properly.
I closed the door and grabbed a chair and sat next to her.
She has cuts, stitches, and bruises on her face and arms.
"Emily, I'm here now, I'm here." I held her hand and my eyes started to water.
"You're going to be okay, just be strong. I know you can."
I started to cry once I saw the condition she was in.
"You're going to be okay."

I immediately woke up and looked around at my surroundings.
I'm still in the hospital.
All you could hear was the sound of the heart monitor making its usual beeping sounds.
I looked out the window and saw that it was already dark.
I pulled my phone out of my pocket to check the time.
It's 10:36 PM.
I'm going to stay here for as long as it takes.
I'm the only one she's got.
I looked at Emily and saw that she's got more color in her than earlier.
"Emily, I'm here for you. I love you and I always will. You mean the world to me."
"Please wake up, or at least show me that you're okay, that you know I'm here."
Her chest then rose up and went back down as if she were taking deep breaths.
"Emily." I said happily .
She continued to do this a few more times and then her index finger started to move in my hand.
I put her hand back on the bed so she can move it properly.
"Oh dear god, thank you!" I smiled as tears began to form in my eyes.
Her eyes are still closed but I can see her moving them around.
She's probably trying to open them but feels too weak.
She then started to make some small noises and the mask on her nose and mouth began to fog up.
I then carefully took it off of her mouth to see if she would talk.
She slowly opened her eyes and saw me.
"Emily, are you okay?"
"Who are you?"
My heart shattered.
I looked at her wide eyed, did she forget me that fast?
This can't be, she's probably just tired.
Maybe she couldn't see me properly because probably it was blurry.
Tears began to roll down my cheeks and I couldn't stop them from falling.
She started to lightly cough so I put the mask back on her and I wiped my eyes.
"Shh-shh, you need to get some rest."
She then shut her eyes and went back to sleep.
What happened to my Emily?
