"Thank you that will be all for now." The doctor smiled, then left the room.
"But..." Emily said stunned.
"Emily." I said.
She then turned her head and faced me.
"Is she telling the truth, do I have amnesia?" She said panicked.
I nodded.
"How, how, how? I remember I was driving home from work and- that's it." She said surprised looking at her hands.
"Who are you?" She said as she turned her head to me.
"I'm your-" I cut myself off. "My name is Julián Dominguez."
I'm not going to rush into things. I don't want to scare her and I kind of want to see if she can remember.
If not, I'll tell her.
"Okay but, h-how do you know me?" She said confused.
"We go a long way back."
"Why do you care for me so much?"
"Why wouldn't I?"
"It may seem strange but I feel like I known you for a long time already. Like we've already met, you look familiar."
"That's not strange at all." I smiled.
I know she's going to remember, she just has to.
She's a strong woman, she will get through this.
"So, when do I get to get outta here?"
"Whenever your doctor says you can leave." I smiled.
She never liked hospitals.
It brings back old memories of hers that she hates.
But hopefully she forgot those memories too.
"No shit Sherlock." She smiled.
I love her smile.
I love her.
"Oh hey, I forgot I brung this with me into the hospital, I was rushing."
I then reached for the bag on the floor and sat in the chair next to her bed.
"What is it?" She said curiously.
I then pulled out the things that I got from the store.
"See, I got what you asked for me to get. Milk, water, and-"
"Snacks!" She said happily as she saw it in the bag.
"Can I have some?" She asked with a smile.
"It's yours, you're the one that asked for it." I chuckled.
I then handed her the bag filled with chips and mini muffins.
"Thank you kind sir!" She said as she opened a bag of mini muffins.
"You're welcome." I smiled.
She then bit the muffin and started to chew.
"Mmm, strawberry, my favorite." She said as she closed her eyes, savoring the muffin.
"I know."
