Chapter Do, aka, Chapter Two:

I peered down over the rock face and it took every ounce of willpower in me not to run and skewer the dead sonsobitches where they stood.
They had begun.  I had been too late to stop the torture.  But I wouldn't be too late to stop the murder.  I swore to myself, and to the bleeding Fae nailed to the ground that I wouldn't leave her, and I wouldn't leave the bloodsuckers standing.
I pushed my magic forth to feel the vampires.  They weren't Ancients.  They were relatively newly turned, probably only fifteens years old or so in measured dead time.  Their appearance was hideous considering that next to the Fae, vampires were probably the second most vain group of Others there were.  They prided themselves on their flawless appearance.  They liked to live well, and even moreso than the shifters, they used humans as servants and help.  These three vampires looked haggard and drawn.  Their complexions were downright sallow, and it was clear they hadn't had nourishment in a while.  If they drained the Fairy their appearance would get marginally better.  But even better than a pretty appearance they'd get a high.  Yup.  Fairy blood was like a drug, take too much and you'd get more than a buzz, you'd get totally high.
Great.  Just great.  I had three raping, murderous intent vampire addicts in my sights.  It could never just be simple, could it.  I mapped the distance to the vampires in my head and took a deep breath.  I could feel my magic swirling around in my body and knew that it wanted to come out and 'play.'  It had been too long since I fed it, too long since I let it out in full force.  No.  I had to keep control over it.  I controlled my power, not the other way around.
Pulling out a silver knife I quickly angled it correctly and exhaling, I threw it...perfectly.  It hit the vampire in exactly where I had wanted it to, right through his heart.  He stumbled back, shocked.  The other two whipped around, fangs descended, eyes aglow.  They were fast, but not fast enough.  I was on the vampire in the middle in two seconds flat.  Expertly, and in a blink of an eye, I used the silver knife to cut out his heart, throwing it aside.  He disintegrated.  His buddies were on me then, but I was prepared.  I fell to my knees, slashing the vampire on the right with my blade I hit him dead on and he fell, I was able to swiftly burry my other short sword in his friend's belly.  It shocked them enough to give me time to pull my sword out of vampire number two's belly and slit his throat.  He gurgled, reaching out, but without hesitation I cut his head off.  I didn't wait to watch him disintegrate, I leapt onto vampire number one and repeated my performance on him, slitting his throat and cutting off his head.  It was over in a blink of an eye, although it had probably been longer than that, I mean, I'm good...but not that good.
Breathing heavily I stood, wiping my blade and sword off and hurried to the Fairy.  She was naked and bleeding profusely from many wounds.  I knew enough about the Fae to know that she needed to get back to the Fae Lands like yesterdays.
"Who are you?" She whispered.  Her voice was breathy and heavily laced with pain.
"I've got this, okay?" I pulled at the bolts holding her down, but they wouldn't budge.
"You can't free me."
"The hell I can't." Okay, Delphine, you've got this.  I called my magic to my hands.  I needed a way to dissolve the bolts but not hurt the Fairy.  "Got that magic mine," I murmured, "dissolve the bolts but don't hurt her." I concentrated and watched as the bolts began to freeze.  Soon enough they were frozen solid.  I pulled then, and they shattered like so much glass hit by a hammer.
"How...how did you..." The Fairy's eyes were wide with shock.  "How did you do that...who are you?"
"Listen, I'll tell you everything later, okay? We need to get you to a portal.  Can you tell me where the nearest one is? I'd use magic, but...won't lie, I'm getting tired, which means my magic is kinda draining out." I helped the Fairy stand and watched as she nodded.  She began to clumsily walk toward a group of standing stones, stumbling a little.  I helped to brace her.
