"You're serious?" I quirk an eyebrow looking at a smiling Hoseok in front of me. Can I even call him that now? It seemed like all of his fans called him hope or hobi, even his bandmates did by the looks of it.
"I made a promise didn't I?" He smiles and sits down on my couch leaving me standing and gawking at him.
"Hoseok it's been how many years? Two? More? You work at Bighit I work at SM, this wouldn't work." As much as I wanted to scream yes and jump into his arms something was holding me back. I had nothing but good memories of him and didn't want dating to change that. While maybe we were best friend comfortable, there was no guaranteeing that we were couple compatible.
I expected him to keep trying, that being just who he was, but instead he heaved a sigh and stood back up, walking over to me.
"I know." He says quietly. It then struck me he didn't actually want to do this, he just was a man of his word, even if his word was two years old. "But I still want to be friends again, who knows?"
"Ho-Hoseok. How the hell did you even find me." I ask, a new pit of nervousness forming in my stomach. Was my address just open to anyone in the industry? I could picture it in a giant file book type of thing, a page with my face ID on it.
Choi Ji Yeon call if anything needs to be filmed.
He bites his lip and scratches behind his ear. "I don't mean to be creepy, but do you know Lee min sook?" He starts. I pause. She was one of the few friends that I did have here in Korea. She worked on idols makeup before live shows, so naturally I'd met her behind the scenes. One thing I did know about her was how much she loved bts... she didn't. Did she?
"That little shit." I mutter and turn away. "How much so you pay her?"
"Just coffee." I'll definitely have to talk to her about not giving away my personal information to random idols, even if we do have a past together.
"Hobi this was nice seeing you and all but I'm gonna have to send you on your way, okay?" I start to push him towards the door gently.
"Ji Yeon come on." He places his feet firmly in the ground and no longer budges, his eyes looked like they were pleading in a sense, though the rest of his face remained emotionless.
"Hoseok, I have to work tomorrow," I sigh and stop pushing on his shoulders. Not gonna lie, I was set off by the whole Min sook address thing.
"Stop by the dorm tomorrow after work then. We have a spare bed for you to sleep in." He says quietly. "You were my best friend after all." I purse my lips. The part of me that has watched every Bangtan bomb, was screaming inside. All of the members sleep in the same room, if there was a spare they'd use it.
"The members want to meet you." He says quietly. I look up at him. His face showed that he actually did want to be as close as we used to be, dating or not. I sigh.
"I'll come over for a couple hours just to say hi," I whisper.
"Yes!" He jumps into the air and starts smiling. I take a step back. On screen it looked like he was a literal sunshine, try real life. He was actually glowing, he was an actual sunshine. I smile too. "Here give me your phone, I'll put in our address and my phone number, ah! I'm happy! Okay!"
I hand him my phone and he practically bounces the whole time while he's typing. After he's finished he holds out both of his arms, a look in his face resembling a proud mother. I meet his hug and press my face into his shoulder. "Now I'll see you tomorrow okay? I'll text you details after I talk to Rapmonie okay?" He pulls away.
"Okay Hoseok, I'll see you tomorrow," I try to put on my best smile to resemble his as he walks out of the door. After closing it behind him, it's all I can do to not laugh. I'm going to Bts' dorm? I run to the back bedroom of my flat.
Inside is my small bed pushed to the corner, an old writing desk that I occasionally use for editing, a record player, and a closet. The walls by the desk are covered in posters. Switching on my fairy lights, I get a better view of all of them. Two Exo posters, each taking up a large amount of space. Below that, a got7 fan, a Monsta X Minhyuk poster, and a Seventeen poster that read 'adore u.'
My eyes then fall on the two bts posters. One smaller than the other. The bigger one showed all of the members during the War of Hormone era. The second was a little bit more recent, a selca taken only months ago that was blown up into a poster. It featured both dancers, Park Jimin and Hoseok. Was it weird I had pictures of my old friend on my wall weird? Possibly.
If 'Jhope' and I were going to become friends again I should probably take the posters down.
