I blush. Perhaps I was obvious with how much I was blushing around Jimin, and avoiding eye contact.
"N-Nah... So. Um, do you like being an idol?" I ask, desperate to pull the conversation away from whether I was interested in Hoseok's band members or not.
"Yeah, I really do. All of our ARMYs are super supportive, and even though we aren't very well known... I really love the dances to some of our songs!" He says happily, but I could feel the edge in his voice, there was something more that he wasn't ready to talk about.
"That's amazing! I remember how you used to talk about how much you wanted this in high school..." I bite my lip, to early to bring up our school years? He nods, still smiling.
"Yeah, I just got lucky a company finally excepted me and wasn't opposed to a horse debuting." He says slowly.
"HOSEOK." I look at him, surprised that he would know what some of the antis called him. He laughs. "You know that's not true right?"
"Yeah, Jin and the others have given me a stern talking about how I'm beautiful... I've heard it. So, SM?" He smiles at me. I can't help but remember when it was my job to tell him how important he was, how he mattered and such. I'm glad that someone like Jin does that now.
"Yeah, I don't do a whole lot there, honestly. It wasn't exactly what I had in mind." I bring my knees to my chest. Hoseok cocks his head. "Like, I'm working with cameras and behind the scenes and such... But there are other film techs that have bigger roles, so they're called to work a bit more. Now, I'm mostly just helping to edit," I pause, not sure if he really wanted to hear my whole life story.
"Work at bighit... You'll be with us." He says quietly. I pout, thinking. Was part of him finding me because the small entertainment company needed a bigger crew?
"Perhaps... But tell me more about what you're life is like and the other members." I say, trying to divert the main focus away from my work and my life.
"It's just as you would expect." Is all he says, then it's quiet for what feels like forever. He slides so his shoulder is on mine, and together we watch the sky turn pink as the sun slowly begins to set.
"Do you still dance?" Is what he says after a while.
"No, I stopped after you left."
"Will you be staying the night?" He asks scooching away slightly so we can face each other better. I shake my head, causing him to pout. "Come on, it'll be one giant sleep over it'll be fun!"
"Hoseok, don't you all sleep in one room?" I laugh slightly. He pauses mouth open.
"Is that a problem?" I shake my head again and shrug.
"No, but I'll just head back home in a couple minutes, I'm tired." I start to get up but he grabs me and pulls me back down. His dark eyes searching through mine.
"Stay." He says quietly... Once again there's something more behind his voice that isn't showing.
"For how long?" I whisper, looking into his eyes. The same eyes that once held so much emotion, and could tell a whole story, now seemed blank, almost. With a feeling of... lost? Helplessness? Sadness? I couldn't put my finger on it to save my live.
"Long enough to show you care."
