It's 3:00 after school, and I struggle to climb into Parker's truck. He gets in the driver's seat, turning on some opera music.

"Lord you're so short. Your little ass can barley get in. I might have to get a little booster for you." He laughs loudly like a hyena.

"Shut up. You're short as well, aren't you like 5'5?" I ask as I roll my eyes.

"I am, but at least I'm not flipping 4'11." He smiles at me.  You wanna go to that new furniture place that opened up? I heard it's stocked on some nice stuff." He says as he drives out of the parking lot.

I buckle my seat up, I move my hand to the stereo, but then he smacks my hand gently away. "Ouchie. What was that for?" I say in a child like tone, giving him a pouty face.

He rolls his eyes. "C'mon now, Mari. You know the rules. We've been over this for what? Since I've freaking got a car. Keep your little cute hands away. Opera is beautiful. It's better than all these songs that you children nowadays listen to."

"Kids? You're one yourself, remember that." I roll my eyes as I roll the window down. I look outside.

He sighs, placing his hand on mine. "So, the place I suggested?" He asks sweetly.

"Sure. Doesn't matter to me." I look at him, smiling at him. I squeeze his hand gently, blushing as I do. I take a deep slow breath, my heart pounding quick. I begin to look at him.

Parker has blue eyes, like an ocean. He also has beautiful light brown hair and tan skin. The man doesn't have a single pimple or even acne on his face because well, he obviously takes good care of himself.

But me on the other hand, I had pimples every once in a while.

God he's so beautiful.

"Enjoying the view, eh?" He says in a cocky tone as he lets go of my hand, placing it on the wheel. He pulls into a parking lot. Which seems to be the new place he was talking about.

I blush, snapping back in reality. "Yeah, um, outside. Yes. Definitely. It's so sunny out, isn't that a surprise?"

"It's always sunny out, Mari. Did you know that's what it's like in Florida?" He says sarcastically.

I roll my eyes at him. I open up the door, jumping out of the truck.

He follows me after, wrapping his arms around me. "Jesus, I was kidding. Chill lil' mama." He says as he turns me around. He giggles.

"I am chill, little boy. Let's get this over with." I say as I grab his hand. I tug him into the store, and the lady who works here greets us, showing us around for a bit.

Parker points at a blanket/sheet area. "I already see some stuff the homie would probably like." He says as he picks out some sheets and a black basic blanket set.

I laugh as I grab some pillows. "It's fun to shop for stuff for your room, but your bed especially."

"It sure is." He grabs some other things as well.

- 10 Minutes later -

We both finally arrive at the front desk, and I see Gabby. Oh great. My ex best friend, how nice.

She's looks at me nervously, then I give her a little smile. "Hey. Didn't know you worked here." I say as I grab the things from the cart, setting it on the checkout counter.

"I'm gonna let you two ladies talk. Gonna get some playboy magazines over there." He points, walking over to the shelf filled with them.

She smiles back at me, sliding the things over the scanner. "Yeah, I work here. My grandfather just opened up this shop and it's a success so far."
