Driving out of the drive way he turned on the radio to 105.1. And of course, my song was on, Right By My Side, by Nicki Minaj ft. Chris Brown. I couldn’t help but sing along. I saw Jacob looking at me from the corner of his eyes. I couldn’t help but smile.
“You have a beautiful voice to know that?” Jacob said looking at me smiling
I couldn’t help but blush as I turned my head to look out the window. “Thank you”
We continued to driving bumping to the music. Jacob turned onto a muddy road. It looked familiar but I couldn’t out my fingers on it. He continued down the path and we pulled up to a small house, with a huge lake behind it. I have never seen anything so beautiful in my life. I got out of the car immediately not waiting for Jacob to open the door for me. I ran down to the board walk leading into the lake.
Standing there looking at the sun, I smiled, “This is beautiful!” Standing there amazed I couldn’t speak anything. I felt hands on my waist, abs against my back and hot air blowing into my ear. I knew it was Jacob so I didn’t move. I loved his embrace.
“It is beautiful, but not comparing to you,” Jacob said with hot air in my ears. “I took you here because I wanted us to talk before you left for the whole summer, not just a plain relationship talk, a heart to heart conversation” I never saw this side of Jacob before, but I liked it. I turned to face him with his hands still wrapped around me, and place my hands around his neck. I stared into his brown eyes.
“Anything you want.” I won’t be seeing him for a whole two months. “Yes, I promise I will listen to you and respond from my heart.” I started rambling on. All I felt was his lips against mine, he shut me up, how dare it, not complaining I welcomed his lips. This kiss was different from the others, I felt him, felt the love we had, felt his heart beat as it danced to the same rhythm mine was. I knew today was a sign, of a safe summer.
We pulled away, looked in each other eyes and without saying a word, we understood each other. We held hands walking down to the boardwalk. Even though its 10:00 in the morning, it was beautiful, the way the sun shined on the lake water. We sat by the edge and place our feet in the water.
“Go ahead and speak, like I told you before, I will listen.” I said as I stared into his eyes.
“When we met, you were so wonderful; everything about you took my breath away. You were quirky and honest and full of life, I couldn’t help but be near you… by the end of that first night, we were holding hands, passed out on the floor behind the couch; I hope you remember that. It was the night I fell in love. Thank you for that. I will carry it with me always. Thank you also, for all the late night talks we had. There was always something about the way you listened that made me feel like the only person in the world. It wasn’t always bad between us. I want you to remember that. “ He paused, and kept looking me in the eye, “When you go to Florida this summer, there will be hot guys down there, but don’t forget me. I love you with everything Makayla Summers. You will make a mistake in Florida, I can feel it, and I will forgive you for it. I want you to have fun. Chicago is far from Florida, but we will remain in contact.”
Looking into his eyes, I was speechless, he saw that in my eyes. “I love you Jacob Perry” He understood. He smiled and leaned in to kiss me. I opened to let him in. We continue kissing for 30 minutes straight. We came to a hault. It seemed as if he speech was long, because it was 1:20 now. I smiled.
“Let’s go home, cause you have to shop and pack” He said smiling. He stood up, took my hand and led me to the car. We had a steady conversation on my way home about Florida and what he was doing for the summer. He pulled up into my driveway.
“Thank you Jacob, I enjoyed this, I love you, I’ll text you before I go to bed tonight.” I said kissing him the cheek.
Looking in my eyes he said, “I love you too Makayla Summers.” I smiled at the way he said my name. Hot. I waved good-bye as I stepped by the door and went in. I miss him already.
I packed up my clothes. I had about three suitcase full and my hand bag. I took out the clothes I was wearing. I had a 5 am flight. After taking my shower, and now in bed, I texted Jacob, “I love you, good night” He responded, “I love you too Makayla, sweet dreams” I couldn’t help but smile.
