...Where's Madelyn?

  9 days later..
In the infirmary..

       It was 6:26 in the morning inside the infirmary when Katie slowly awoke from her bed. She looks to her left slowly to avoid pain, spotting the 'get well' cards and the almost dead flowers. She rose slowly, but stopped midway to hiss sharply. She held her side. Oh, how much she just regret it, but she just wants to get up.. She wants to see everyone again and tell them she's alright. As Katie slowly moves up again, she heard soft snores from her right. She turns to her right and her lips grew to a smile. There on her right was her beloved dragon.. Hanzo is sleeping on the chair with having drool falling from his open mouth to his chin. And plus he's in a funny position where his legs are bent so they'll fit in the chair and close to his chest. "H...Hanzo..." She said weakly, raising her arm up so she can touch his cheek.. but she immediately stopped as she felt pain sting into her arm. "Fuckk....." She cried softly. Why can't she do something without feeling pain!?

"K..Katie?" Hanzo was awake.. Katie turn to him with happiness in her eyes. But before she was able to say anything, Hanzo got up and hugged her, the dam in his eyes broke and the tears pour down. "Ow ow ow... Hanzo..." She cried, as she didn't realize he was hugging her too tight. He immediately let's go after the third ow from Katie and he bowed down in shame.

"Gomen'nasai! Anata ga mada kega o shite iru no o wasuremashita! Gomen'nasai!!"  (S-Sorry! I didn't realize you were still injured! I'm sorry!)

He cried while Katie held onto her now burning arms. "You're okay, my love. Just... Be careful next time, ok?" She asked softly, keeping a smile on her face. She can keep hearing him say 'I'm sorry' in Japanese as she looked around. "How long have I been out?" She asked, noticing some things changed while she was out. She wondered what the flowers looked like while they die. "You've been out for 9 days. Everyone is going to be happy now that you're up, my Queen." He said with a smile. Katie kept that smile on her lips and chuckled. "Let's hope.. I bet everyone forgot about me." She joked, hoping to get some humor out after 9 days. But as she heard Hanzo chuckle at her joke, Katie noticed something was also different. Where's Madelyn? She would be here with Hanzo so he can get some company while staying with her. She didn't even hear her say Mommy or her giggles. "Hanzo...." She asked, confused to not see the certain someone. Hanzo quickly turn to her, not knowing what humor or words she is going to say. "Yes, my love?" Katie was hesitant to ask him about their daughter.. She wonder if he'll just say that she's back in our room, resting her eyes or with everyone else. But she open to ask two words..

"..Where's Madelyn?"

Instantly, Hanzo's expression went into​ shock while his love waits for an answer. She noticed his expression changed and got worried. 'What happened while I was out?' Katie thought to herself as she watch him start to freak out a bit. "Hanzo? You OK?" She moved her hands to his shoulders. He flinched at her touch as he stutter a bit. "Y....Y....Yes.. my love. I'm alright. It's just......" He looked away from her worried expression, tears start to pour out his eyes. Her expression went to more worry as she softly grab his chin and moved to face her. "H..Hanzo? What's wrong? Tell me!" Tears formed in her eyes as he slowly spoke. "Our baby girl has been taken..... by Talon.... Everyone is depressed that their little sunshine is in the hands of the enemy..."

He watched as Katie's face was not in worry anymore. She was now shocked. She felt herself start to pour tears our of her eyes as she lets out a soft sob. "No.... No!!" She cried, holding onto her head as she stares at the blanket that covers her legs. Hanzo looked away as he watched his beloved break down. "Damnit!! I tried to save her! But I wasn't good enough...." She slammed on the bed, a loud, but soft thud echoed the room. "But I failed...." "But it was my fault, Katie..." Hanzo spoke quietly, but loud enough for Katie to hear. "I told her to go find Soldier... I didn't go with her... Meaning I just let her get grabbed again...." He lower his head where he clench his hands into fists. Katie moved her hand to touch his clenched fist, moving her thumb around for some comfort. "Hanzo...." Katie cried softly. But before she can say more, she heard the door to the room open..

"Oh! She's awake.... Is she OK, Hanzo?"

Angela's voice echoed in the room and Katie slowly move her hand from Hanzo's fists. Hanzo can only shake his head. "Angela..." Katie sobbed weakly. Angela slowly walk up and placed a hand on Katie's shoulder. "I'm sorry about Madelyn.. we tried to save her, but we got blind. Morrison is getting his best men into Talon building in order to bring her back." She said softly, hoping it would at least make her happy. "L...Let's hope...... Cause I don't know what I would be without our little angel..." Hanzo shushed her quietly and held her head against his shoulder. "Don't worry, my love. We'll get her back.."

*Small Time Skip*

Katie was able to walk out of the infirmary with the help of Hanzo. The first place she wanted to go is the cafeteria because the way the sky is bright blue with the white fluffy clouds shown from the huge windows. It's breakfast time. As they get closer, the smell of fresh eggs hit Katie's nose. She hadn't smell eggs in 9 days as she walk a little faster, earning a small chuckle from Hanzo.

As soon as she walked in, everyone looked up and smiled. Tracer was the first to come up cause.. you know she's fast. "Want some eggs, luv?" Tracer asked cheerfully, holding a fresh plate of eggs. Katie said nothing, instead she take the plate and starts biting into the hot eggs, not caring if it's hot. "My dear.. you need to sit instead of stand to eat breakfast." Hanzo said from behind. Tracer chuckled and pat Katie on the back. "Leave her be, Hanzo. She haven't had anything good to eat in 9 days.."
