Kade looks startled. I don't think he was expecting that question. He starts to answer but he just can't seem to get the words out.
"Uh, I, I am.. Woah." Kade says, very stuttered. "No. I'm sorry girls, I am not your father. I do, however know exactly who your father is. I'm not quite sure that you want to meet him though." He tells us both.
"Are you KIDDING? Of course we want to meet him! This is seriously amazing! What's his name? What's his name?" I scream. I am so excited I could just hug him for hours.
"Ryan. His name is Ryan. He's my brother. But I must warn you, be careful." John tells us. "He lives on 675 Dillarius Avenue. Just walk up to the door and open it. That's the best way to talk to him." He tells us. I'm a bit sceptical since I have never walked up to a strangers house alone. But then again, he is our Father, what could go wrong?
As Olivia and I walk over to Dillarius Avenue, I start to get a sick feeling in my stomach. I'm not quite sure what it means, but I think I should take John's advice for being careful. After all, he knows my father much better than I do. We walk up towards the front door of an old, run down house and walk inside, just like John told us to. Inside there is a man who is smoking a cigar on a large chair.
"Who are you? Get out!!! I don't know you!" The man yells. I start to walk out, but Olivia grabsmy arm. We walk up towards him and look into his eyes. He calms down as we do this, as if we gave him a large hug. He puts his cigar down and stares at us. "I, I feel like I know you two. I can't put my finger on it. You can't be, them, can you? Oh, oh my." He says to us. "Carley? Olivia?"
"I'm Carley, and this is Olivia. I'm not sure what you want us to call you, but I'm just going to call you father. Is that alright? I'm so happy to see you!!!" I leap onto him, giving him a big hug. He pushes me off of him, as if I was beating him up. I fall to the ground, banging my knee on the hard, wooden floor. I don't start crying, but I am confused. What did I ever do to him?
"Did Caitlyn send you?" He asks. I recognize the name. Caitlyn from the airport? "I can't believe it. First, she gives birth to you two orphans, and then she decides to send them to me. I can't believe her stupidity. I don't want any orphans in my house. Get out! Get out you little rats!" He shoo's us off, pushing us out the door, then slamming it in our face. Olivia breaks down and starts to cry. I'm about to cry too, but I stay strong so Olivia can have someone. She deserves someone right now.
"What do we do? Our father hates us and never even wanted us. I have lost all hope! I will never reunite with my family!" She cries into my arms. "And I never even met my mom! Who knows where she is?"
"Olivia, I know Caitlyn. She is a security guard at the airport near where I live! I bet I can email the airport and can get in contact with her." I tell her. I see a glimpse of hope in her eyes, as if she is ready to take on the challenge. "Great! Now, let's go find my computer."
