As I sneak out of my bedroom window that night, I'm careful to not make a sound. Since my flight is at 6am, I have around 5 hours to get to the airport. However, the airport is right on the east edge of the county, which is an hours drive, let alone walk. Lois told me I could use her dad's quad, I just need to be careful not to be caught riding it. I take her advice, so after I walk to her house I grab the quad's keys and hop on. I've never driven a quad before, but I don't think it would be that hard. I was definitely wrong, because my feet could barely touch the pedals and the steering wheel was big and heavy. I manage to make it to the airport in 2 hours, which for me I say is a victory. I hide the quad in a roadside ravine, and I run to the front doors, being greeted by a posse of security guards.
"Excuse me Miss, where are your parents? You must be with your parents at all times." The security guard tells me. I stare at him in shock. There is no way that I can tell him what I am doing, or he will send me back home for sure. I look around the airport for an explanation, hoping that some sort of reason will pop out in front of me. I soon spot an old lady walking around by herself, and I quickly make up a small lie.
I put on my best Italian accent towards the security guard. "Well, you see sir, my grandmother is over there can not speak any English, only Italian. She wanted me to ask the front desk a question about our carry on's, since she cannot do it herself. Is that alright? I promise I won't be any trouble." I tell him. He looks at me suspiciously, then nods his head towards the reception desk. I thank him and hurry along. As a lady checks in my bag and scans my ticket, I keep my eyes out for more security guards. I start walking towards security, praying that I get across without being sent home. Thankfully, I get paired with a very friendly guard. She asks me how my day is and where I am going. I tell her England, to meet my long lost sister. She smiles at me. "I used to live in England, but I moved here after I had my kids." She told me. I glance at her name tag. Caitlyn. It was such a pretty name. I tell her goodbye and walk towards my gate. As a person calls that my flight is now boarding, I run towards the gate and get my ticket scanned. The person looks at me oddly for a moment, and then guides me to my seat.
The seats in first class were very comfortable, with plush cushions and lovely head pillows. Under my seat was a pair of socks, a blanket and some snacks. A flight attendant comes around and gives everyone in first class champagne. When she comes to me, she offers me some fruit punch. I gladly take it, as I have had nothing to drink for hours. As the plane takes off, I drift off into a sleep. When I wake up, the plane is already landing. I have a notification on my phone from an unknown number, seeming to be Olivia, saying that she will meet me outside my gate wearing a pink dress. I get a rush of excitement. I'm going to be meeting my sister!
