Reagan Pov

The Return From Basics

I waited for Erik at the airport beyond excited to see him. And then he appeared! Look more built and a little sexier if I do say so myself.

"Baby!!" I said running to him and jumping into his arms.

"Hey Rea." He said kissing my cheek and laughing.

"Babe I've missed you so much! I planned this week out for us, I know today you wanna rest so today and tomorrow are chill in the apartment days and then on Wednesday we can go to the beach go on a walk on the shore line and just have fun. Thursday I was thinking about dinner at that nice new restaurant you wanted to go to before you left." I said before he cut me off.

"Reagan I was thinking about just staying in the house for this month, all that shit sounds cool and all but I kinda got other shit to do and worry about." He said as we walked to the car, and it hurt my feelings, but attests he was home right...

"Yeah sure Erik...I'm sorry." I said looking down before getting into the drivers seat.

The car ride was quiet because Erik wasn't listening to anything I was saying. He was consumed by whatever was on his phone. I just wanted to spend the last month me and him had together before his 9 month tour started but I could feel things were different.

We pulled up to our apartment we got right before he left with my money and his signing bonus. I got out and walked straight into or first level apartment holding the door open for him.

"Thanks." He said dropping his bag and going to the computer.

"Erik you just got back and we've barley talked! Can you step away from electronics for 5 minutes so we can spend time together!" I shouted.

He looked furious and he stood up quickly walked towards me. "Don't yell at me Reagan, don't talk to me like I'm your child, I am busy doing something important that doesn't concern you. All I need for you to do is go make me something to eat and let me be for the night." He said coldly.

I laughed lightly and pushed passed him head into the kitchen to make him a sandwich. Once I got into the kitchen I let a few tears fall then I continued to make his food. I walked back out with it on a plate and set it on the computer stand and kissed his cheek and he gave me a weak smile.

"I love you." He said which gave me more hope that this was just him trying to settle in back home.

"I love you too Erik." I said walking to the bedroom and going on netflix. I was extremely tired from getting up early to get him so I decided to take a quick nap and let him do what he was doing.

The Next day

I sat on the coach waiting for Erik to come out of the room. And when he finally did he didn't say anything to me.

"Good morning Baby." I said

"Morning." He said dryly.

"Do you wanna watch this movie with me?" I asked with a smile.

"Nah I'm good." He said dryly.

"Alright baby." I said frustrated.

"Why you say it like that?" He asked

"No reason Erik." I said getting up and going to bedroom.

"Reagan bring you ass back out here!" He yelled.

I cant believe this man is yelling at me like this right now, like who is he? This is not my boyfriend.

"Erik I'm not arguing." I said plainly getting into our queen bed.

"No Reagan you been acting some type of way." He said walking into the room slamming the door.

"Don't slam the door please." I whined .

"I really don't give a fuck about that door." He said.

"Erik leave me alone!"

"No we gonna talk about this shit" He said.

"Erik just stop okay...We can talk later just right now I want to be alone." I said pulling the covers over my head.

I heard his phone beep and he did a loud sigh and walked out the room. Man what the hell is happening to us.

2 weeks later

"ERIK WHAT THE HELL DO YOU FUCKING MEAN YOURE LEAVING THIS WEEK!?!" I yelled furious.

"I HAVE TO REAGAN! THIS IS IMPORTANT!" He yelled back.

"THE PAST 2 1/2 WEEKS YOUVE BEEN SHIT! IGNORING ME! SPENDING ALL YOUR DAMN TIME IN BOOKS, PHONE, THE COMPUTER AND LEAVING AT RANDOMS TIMES AND I JUST PUT UP WITH IR BUT NOW YOURE LEAVING ME EARLY!" I yelled

"YOURE FUCKING SELFISH!!" He fired at me.

"NO YOURE JUST A FUCKED UP BOYFRIEND ERIK! And I'm done..."I said.

"Fuck do you mean you're done!?!" He asked.

"Eric I stopped being your priority the day after prom, you just used me." I laughed.

"Reagan...Baby I'm not using you and nor was I ever. There are things you just don't understand, but when I get back and have more answers about things I'll explain everything to you." He said.

"Erik it's no point, you proved what meant most to you. Can you name one thing we've don't since you been home?" I asked.

"Reagan!! I been here doing important shit! Fuck I tried making shit up to your ass and you just can't get over it!" He said

"Wow Erik." I said.

"Bye Reagan..I'll see you when I come back from my tour." He said.

"You leave in 3 days why can you just be with me." I asked

"Reagan maybe these 9 months apart are good for us." He said walking away.

"Erik I love you!!" I shouted.

"I love you Reagan." He said getting into his car and driving away.

I let the tears fall as I walked back into "our" apartment. I feel like this break up or whatever he's calling it, is gonna cause more pain than it will happiness.
