Raven Larson's Personal Journal
Today is D-Day.
One: Milo, the Demon Dog arrives.
Two: I go to work and face the douche.
I told Mom about the voicemail from Hannah over dinner. That's one of the things I miss about my old job with my parent's construction company. I was the manager, I made the decisions, and there was no real HR department. (Unless you count Mom and Dad.) Here, I'm surrounded by people who think they know more than me and have more experience than me when they barely know how to input numbers into Excel or conjugate a sentence. At least Hannah should be able to show me some sisterly love and see things from my point of view.
Hmmm, maybe, Mom and I can get together again today or tomorrow before she flies back to Atlanta on Saturday.
I tried asking her about Dad again, but she expertly changed the subject as only she can.
I'm really starting to think Damon is the one. We share similar goals, we both want to wait to have children, we're both focused on our careers, and our families adore each other. (Well, his Mom adores me and I think Mom adores him. One really knows for sure with her. Dad can't stand to be around him, but Dad usually can't stand to be around anyone.) It's the perfect backdrop for a wonderful future and I truly think we're perfect for one another. Maybe, I should get input from the Girls.
After Damon and I marry, we're definitely moving away though. Monica lives in New York and she LOVES it. I think I might prefer the Bay Area though. It's away from the stuffy Texas heat and humidity. Leila says it's the perfect place to raise a family. She would know with baby number three on the way. Which reminds me, I need to text her and ask her what she wants for her baby shower. Of course, you can never go wrong with diapers.

Shaking my head, I put my phone back down and start applying my eyeliner. I can't believe I forgot to cancel my gym membership! Why didn't I add that to my to-do list yesterday? With my rent going up, that was an extra $35 that I couldn't afford to lose.
I throw my eyeliner back into my makeup bag and stand up. This apartment is way too small to accommodate a vanity, so I'd resorted to hanging a full-length mirror on the front of the bathroom door and doing my makeup on the floor. It's not like I use a ton of makeup anyway. Eyeliner, eyeshadow, and lipstick were my go-to makeup pieces. Turning to the side, I run my hands across my stomach. The only reason I signed up for Fit Life Gym was because Heather wanted to get healthy this year and she wasn't allowed to go to my gym because she doesn't pay rent here. However, I am starting to get a little pudgy around the middle. Must be the pizza. Or maybe the chocolate eclairs. Hmm, food. I need breakfast.
