A man and a woman hurried down the sidewalk clutching a small toddler close to them. It was dark and damp in the city. A steady rain had established itself. Everything looked colder with a wet sheen to it.

The family rounded the corner to a small, long forgotten playground.

"Okay, sweetie. Let's play hide and seek. You hide and Mommy and I will seek." The man told the squirming little girl. He wore no hat or coat, yet there was an undeniable chill in the air that seeped into your very bones.

"Okay, Daddy!"

The little girl toddled away on legs that had not lost its baby fat. Her cheerful peals of laughter echoed off of the cruddy brick walls lining the street. She wandered around the dilapidated park searching for the perfect hiding spot. She glanced back to make sure her parents weren't peaking. They could be so silly sometimes. When she looked at the spot where her mommy and daddy were, all that occupied the space was cold, damp air.

"Mommy?"
