this is going to be in tournament style. what does that mean, you ask? well, after scoring each book, only the highest scores will advance.
each genre has a varying number of entries so the format will be the same but the amount of entries cut per genre may vary.
the prelims are gonna be rough, lots of people will be cut.
prelims: thirteen-eighteen entries per genre
- each judge reads first chapter only
- eliminate bottom four-nine scoring entries
octofinals: nine entries per genre
- each judge reads second chapter
- eliminate bottom two scoring entries
quarterfinals: seven entries per genre
- each judge reads third chapter
- eliminate bottom two scoring entries
semifinals: five entries per genre
- each judge reads fourth chapter
- eliminate bottom two scoring entries
finals: three entries per genre left
- each judge will read the fifth chapter and score. the highest score is first, second highest score is second, and third highest score is third.
