I played with the soft velvet of my bodice, as my chamberlain struggled to unhook my heavy gown from its hanger.

"You know Chrissy, I'm fine with wearing my bodice alone. It's quite lovely." I smiled at her stricken face.

"The queen would throw a fit and have me thrown out." She replied, dragging the heavy fabric. "I'm going to fetch some pins."

I stood from my lavish sheets and headed towards my balcony.

At first, I didn't see it. I'd chosen my room on the outer part of the castle rather than inside so I could overlook my garden. It was enclosed with a glass ceiling.

My garden kept me busy and gardening was something I was good at. My eyes immediately went to my hydrangeas, my favorite flower.

That's when I noticed what was wrong. Every single one of them was gone.

At first, I didn't believe it. I blinked a couple of times before leaving the balcony and going to my closet. I slipped my feet into the closest pair of sandals and rushed out the door.

"Where to, princess?" My guard immediately said as I passed. I ignored him, knowing he would follow.

I took the back way out of the castle to avoid running into anybody who would try and stop me. My royal coronation ball started in an hour, exactly enough time to get me into a dress and do a few touch ups on my hair.

I was too concerned about my hydrangeas thief to worry about being late to yet another ball.

The guard at the back door nodded at me before opening the door for us.

I took the necklace that was around my neck and unlocked the gate to the garden. I kept the key around my neck and only two other people had a copy of it.

My gardener and...

I stopped in my tracks, realizing what could have happened to my hydrangeas.

I grinned and hurried into the garden. As soon as I entered I nearly stepped on one of the blue flowers. I looked ahead to see a trail of them. I hurried along the path of the huge garden until I reached the end where the flowers made a large heart and standing in the center was the love of my life.

Nobody knew that we were seeing each other since he was poor. He was my secret love song.

"You look nice." He said, referring to my bodice.

I laughed. Jonah was wearing a nice black suit, which had probably cost him his entire weekly check.

"I didn't want to miss the coronation ball." He said.

I took a step towards him and he held up a small tiara that was made of twigs and very small flowers. It looked like he'd made it himself.

I smiled as he rested it on my hair and kissed my forehead.

"Tonight, before you become ruler of this beautiful island, I want to make you my queen."
