Don't Date The Vocalist (2)- Celia's POV.
I do my laces, and look across to Luke. His fingers are shaking, because he's still in shock from Rhea. I roll my eyes and knock his hands away, fixing his skates. He gives me a weak smile, and pats my head awkwardly. Standing up, I grab his hand and lead him towards the ice ring. We both stumble on and Luke grabs the rail, keeping me upright. I've been ice skating quite a few times, but Luke has been a lot. He takes my hand in his warily at first then yanks my arm almost from my socket. He pulls me around the rink, laughing and smiling as I stumble to keep up. I slip several times and he catches me. Finally, he's happy! Well, not happy. But happier...
"So do you want to talk?" I ask.
"Not really...can we just have fun?"
"Yeah, sure. But just so you know, you are not boring. You are wonderful, and if she can't appreciate how lovely and beautiful you are as a person, she doesn't deserve you, okay?" He smiles down at me, and hugs me tightly. Luke's hugs are the best. I put all my effort into squeezing him hard to show I'm here. Our fingers are still entwined, and I smile down at them. We start to skate round again, this time slower, and more relaxed.
"Luke...do you want me to ask Alex if him and the boys know anything about Ashton? They're quite close, I think."
"Would you? That'd be great, Cece. But you don't have to..."
"Of course I will!" I have to lean back to look up at him, because even though I'm quite tall myself- 5'8- Luke is 6'4. He makes Brad look like a midget, bless him. I squeeze his hand, and that's when I hear the familiar click of a camera. I spin around, and see a man dressed head to toe in black with a huge flashing camera. I should have known. Luke can't go anywhere without being harassed by stupid fudging paparazzi. What grassholes.
"I'm so sorry, Celia. I should have warned you."
"It's fine, Luke. C'mon!" We skate off the ice, and give back our skates. Still hand in hand, we walk out of the reception area and into a nearby Costa Coffee.
"Do you want the usual, Luke?" He nods and tries to give me some money. I refuse- it's me cheering him up after all- and stride up to the till to order.
"Hi, can I get a medium caramel latte and a chocolate coffee cooler please?"
"Yeah, sure! That's £6.75, please." I hand her the money, wait for our drinks and head over to the table. Sliding over the cooler to Luke, I grab his hand again reassuringly.
"I texted Alex while I was waiting. He said he's not sure, but he's invited us to his friend Rian's tomorrow night. He doesn't have a show. Do you want to come? It might take your mind off of it."
"Hmm." I adjust my beanie and give him a worried look. Obviously he's not going to be perfectly okay after a break up, but he's being a bit odd now. He keeps having long periods of short answers then he will be fine.
"I like your beanie, Cece." I smile and play with a loose thread.
"Thank you."
"The colour suits you, it looks nice with your hair...hey wasn't that mine?" It's medium grey, and he hasn't worn it in ages. He's only just noticed...
"It might be."
"Hey!" He swipes the hat from my head, making me squeal.
"Luke! Give it back! I'm having a bad hair day!" I point up to the frizzy mess of brown curls. It's normally straight, but I braided it when it was wet, and it went wrong. Again.
"Looks fine to me!"
"You have to say that, you're my best friend!"
"Best friend..." I look up sharply at Luke's comment.
"Wai-what?"
"Nothing, Cece, don't worry. And here's your hat, your hair actually looks terrible, sweetie."
"Ugh, Luke!"
