*KINDA FLUFFY CHAPTER*
[Y/N]
I didn't expect my hand to grasp his so quickly, but I was oddly comfortable with him. His hand felt warm and soft around mine, not clammy and stiff like so many others. It was like a small blanket around me, seeing that Dipper had extremely small hands.
((Side note? I wish people could hold hands without it being weird?? Like I legitimately just want to hold someone's hand casually? I want to be able to feel their warm hand against mine and be able to tangle my fingers into theirs and run my thumb on the back of their hand, and walk through the halls))
Dipper was different here. At school he was meek, and quite. Out here, he was outgoing, and kind of annoying. It was like he grew a new conscience and was a whole new person.
Sure, I just met him (properly) today, but something about him, was calming.
[DIPPER]
She trusted me really quick. I found it alarming how quickly she took my hand, and ran.
This'll be a little easier than I thought.
"I'll have you know, I don't usually do this," I warned her, when we slowed down. "What? Be nice to people?" she teased, but I saw her smile a bit. "That," I admitted. "But mainly this." I leaned and pecked her lightly on the cheek. Then I turned back around, my cheeks burning- not wanting to see her reaction.
"Look," I said, pointing, changing the subject. I felt her eyes travel my arm and look to where I was gesturing. When I didn't hear a reaction I looked around to see her staring at me in wonder, and her hand resting on her cheek lightly. When she saw I had noticed, she quickly adverted her eyes and blushed.
woah this is awkward.
"I don't see anything," Y/N slowly said.
"Now that, will take some practice," I chuckled, looking at the large forest ahead of us. I heard various creatures chirping, chatting, or humming softly.
"Come on," I said, and quickly jogged toward the forest. "Okay... now, close your eyes." She quickly obeyed and shut her eyes. "Concentrate... what do you hear...?"
"I don't hear anythi- wait!" I watched as Y/N's eyes widened. "What do you hear," I asked simply. "Low growling," she whispered back and I froze. I hadn't been paying attention to our surrounding, while teaching Y/N. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I turned around as slowly as I could and was surprisingly greeted by Drew. When he saw us he brightened up, "Hey guys!!" he cheered. Y/N quickly brightened, "Hey Drew!" She quickly jogged to where Drew was standing, and I reluctantly followed.
"What are you doing in the woods?" I asked. This was private property, and most humans don't even notice it. "I don't really know. I was walking round'," why were you just 'walking around' on a Wednesday afternoon? ," and I found this," he lazily pointed to the closing forests. I looked at his face, in hopes of spotting suspicion, but Drew simply kept smiling.
"Cool!"
"-Not cool," I barged in on Y/N. She looked at me, annoyed. I quickly put my arm around her shoulder, and lead her away from Drew. "Look, something's not right," I whispered.
"What are you talking about? I've known Drew all my life. I think I would know when he was up to something. Besides, Drew wouldn't ever do something like that."
"But what if it's not him," I tried to explain as simply as I could. Y/N raised an eyebrow. "Look," I said, my voice serious, and still eyeing Drew from a few feet away.
"There are a lot of weird things in this forest. Believe me. Remember when you told me about the things you've seen? The unicorn? Remember you told me nobody would believe what you saw, but your eyes?"
Y/N nodded slowly. But her eyes suddenly hardened. "Drew believed me. He was there. I don't know about you. But I'm going with him."
I took my arm off her shoulder curtly, "As much as I don't like this situation- you'll die without me," I said, clutching my journal, ready to flip to the Forest Creature's section if I needed to.
Y/N rolled her eyes but didn't argue. They were a nice shade of E/C. I've never noticed that before...
"So Drew," I inquired, knowing that Drew was yearning to eavesdrop. "Where's Ash and Ryan?" Drew looked at Y/N, in confusion, and she quickly said, "they're at the hole((THAT SOUNDS SO WRONG IM DYING))."
"They never tell Drew anything," she added.
"Why don't we go meet them?" Drew suggested. "-sure!" I said, a little too enthusiastic. Get him away from the forest. He'll loose his advantage
"Uhhh I'll lead the way," Y/N offered. "No I can," Drew said, curtly.
the original chapter was over 2000 words long but it was taking too long to write and edit, so I cut it in half, and you'll see the second part next chapter.
also, i felt like this chapter was a little rushed and kind of confusing. the next chapter will be better because you'll know what's going on.
word count: 884 words
