Chapter 2 - My Secret Is Spilled

Jonathan's POV

It was raining really hard and i was in my car on my way home when i seen this girl walking down the street. As i got closer i realized it was that girl Monai. I pulled over and got out. I could hear her crying, and when i touched her she winched and screamed in pain. She looked into my eyes and fell to her knees crying. I gently picked her up and put her into my car. I wonder what happened.

*15 mins later*

About five minutes ago Monai's sobs and sniffles stopped and i heard a light snoring. She was asleep in the backseat of my car. I pulled up to my house and there were lights on indicating that my hood brothers were here.

Sometimes i regret giving them a key.

I picked Monai up, opened my door and walked in not saying a word. "Damn nigga ! Thats a bad ass hoe you got there!" Bubba said "SHUT THE FUCK UP !" I yelled i heard my boys ohh and awe. I shook my head and walked upstairs to my bedroom ,closed and locked the door behind me.

I laid Monai on my bed, she was still asleep. I took off her wet clothes and saw bruises all over her body, it hurt my heart. Then , after a while, i got furious ! I wanted to find out who did this , but i had to keep my cool. So, I put her on one of my oversized my t-shirts ,which fit her like a dress, and some socks. I took off my wet clothes ,took a shower, and went back downstairs with my hood brothers.

Roderick (Bubba), Terrance (TMan) , James (Murk), and Derran (Vont) are the closes thing to a family for me. My mom , Catherine , was on drugs and an alcoholic and put me out when i was 11.

*FlashBack*

I had just good home from football practice when my mom walked in. "Hey mom." I said politely "I hate you!" She told me "Huh?" I asked completely "YOU ARE THE REASON THAT YOU FATHER LEFT ME ! YOU ARE THE REASON WHY I CANT KEEP A MAN! I HATE YOU GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE!" She was yelling and i was crying. She went into my room, threw all my stuff out, and pushed me out of the door. Long story short Bubba found me a 5 months later stealing some food and he took me in.

*FlashBack Over*

"Come here Pint" Bubba said calling me by my street name. "Wassup Bubba." "I dont know what has gotten into you! Why you snapped on me like that?" I didn't answer, he signed and simply said "When you ready to talk come see me. You know I'm here. Okay?" "Yeah okay." He went to the kitchen and i went to the living room with TMan, Murk, and Vont.

"So who is she?" Vont asked "This girl i met at JetPep." I answered "Why is she her?" TMan asked with an attitude "She was walking in the rain crying." I answered simply. "Yall fuckin?" Murk asked "Nope." "Yall so nosy !" Bubba yelled from the kitchen. " We just wanted to know!" Murk yelled back.

*35 min Later*

My brothers and i were sitting down when i heard screaming. I jumped up and ran to my room to find Monai in my bed screaming, shaking, sweating and crying in her sleep. "NOO!!" She screamed. "The fuck is wrong with her?" Murk said with Bubba, TMan, and Vont behind him. "I dont know!" I went to her at started to hold her , but that didnt stop her. "PLEASE ......... STOP!! ....NOO!! DONT.....PLEASE!" She continued " Wake up baby girl!" I said shaking her.

Monai's POV

I was fresh out of the shower when Antwon was hitting me with a switch. " AHHHHH!" I couldn't help but scream. "HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU ?! YOU GET IN THE SHOWER WHEN I TELL YOU TO! YOU CANT BLINK WITHOUT LETTING ME KNOW!" He yelled at me "YOU ARE MINE! I OWN YOU!" He continued "mommy." I whimpered calling for my mom, to cone save me but instead Antwon laughed at my attempt kicked me in my stomach and yelled "BITCH! Yo MAMA DONT WANT YOU ! DUMB ASS ! YOU THINK BETTER THAN ME BECAUSE YOU GOT BETTER GRADES THAN THE REST OF MY KIDS?!" ,"Please stop." I pleaded. "ANSWER ME YOU STUPID SHIT!" He yelled "No." I said between my tears. He grabbed me by my throat and whispered "Wake up baby girl."

I woke up sweating and out of breath. "You okay hun?" I look into Jonathan's eyes and nodded. "It felt so real." I whispered into his strong chest. "It's okay. I got you." He said while holding me.

Jonathan's POV

She looked up at with fear in eyes, then she put her face into my chest and cried. I held her close. She looked up and around my room and jumped, "Whats wrong?" I asked her, Monai pointed at Bubba, TMan, Vont, and Murk "What did i do?" Murk said throwing his hands up in defense. She crawled behind me and put her face in my back. I waved my hand silently telling them to leave the room.

"They're gone hun." She moved into the middle of bed and brought her knees to her chest. "I'm sorry." She said just over a whisper. "What happened?" I asked her. " I'm afraid of him. He scares me." She said as her voice started to crack. "Who?" She didn't answer but she looked up at me with her grayish blue eyes asking for hope. "Let me help you." "I cant beat him." She said in between sobs. "Who?" "Antwon." "Baby Girl tell me everything i need to know

Monai's POV

"Baby Girl tell me everything i need to know." He looked at me seriously. I sighed and started to speak "Okay. My dad owes "Twice"." "THE CAR DEALERSHIP?" He asked surprised "Yes the dealership." "Oh okay, continue." "When i was six, my mom started doing drugs with her amazing boyfriend Antwon." I said sarcastically. "But when i was eight , he ..... He ...... He tried to ....... " I was choking on my words. "Come on baby girl." Jonathan pushed "He tried to rape me." Jonathan look at me with sorrow and anger in eyes "He didnt succeed. But ever since he beats me. My mom is to busy with work, and my dad gets tied up with his business sometimes so i cant move with him." I signed heavily " I get nervous when im around big strangers because Antwon was nothing but a big stranger to me. I am just so afraid that they are going to hurt me. He beats me and i cant do anything about it." I said, i was about this stranger my life story.

Something about Jonathan made me feel safe and comfortable. When i first met him i wanted to see him over and over again. When he touched me for the first time it made me believe that nothing could hurt me or my ego.

"The only thing i have is my music, but my mom always try's to take that away from me." Little did Jonathan know what i am about to say is about to hurt me. "She let his kids break my clarinet." I said crying and he rubbed my back" She let them break my future. I promise my daddy that i will go to college. My instruments are my ticket, and she let them my one. I dont have any money so i cant replace it. When i asked him was he going to replace it.... He ...... He ....... He beat me again. I try so hard to please everyone but i cant please myself. Can i show you something?" He nodded, i exhaled, im about to show him my darkest secret.
