Nightmares and Needles

Jess's POV

I was walking to the treehouse when I heard my name being called
I turned around and saw Lukas

Jesse

Lukas?

I'm not gonna make it

Lukas wha-

I'm gonna join your parents and Reuben

There gonna fail
Just as they failed to save your parents
Then a Reuben came out of nowhere and he can talk
I'm gone now and he will be joining us

What?

We will take him

They both disappeared into thin air
(Idk I just thought about it I couldn't think about anything better)
I woke up with Jay and Petra sitting on Both sides of my bed

"What are you guys doing?"

"We were making sure you were ok"

"What do you mean?"

"You were moving a lot in your sleep"

"Huh"

"We'll get up it's time to get ready for school"

"Oh yeah"

I got up and ready for school and left

We were almost at the bus stop when Aiden came up to us

"Hey Jesse"

"Hey Aiden"

"What do you want Aiden"

"You didn't tell them yet?"he asked me

"Guys Aiden gonna be nice to us now"

"Really"

"Kinda hard to believe"

"Just watch him he won't hit anyone"

"Sureee"

"And I can tell he actually trying guys"

"Bye Guys see you at school"

"See ya Aiden'

I went to school and the first few classes went by pretty quick
And before I knew it it was lunchtime

I was eating my lunch while thinking

"Jesse are you ok?"Olivia asked

I stopped thinking for a second

"Huh"

"Can we talk for a minute Jess?"Petra said

"Oh yeah"

We stepped in the hallway

"Are you doing alright?"

"Yeah I'm fine"

"You don't seem like it"

"Ok fine I'm worried about Lukas"

"Relax he in good care and we're gonna see him later"

"I'm trying but I have all these thoughts"
I thought I was gonna cry

"I'm worried and I'm actually scared"

"Wow Petra scared"

"Yeah funny isn't it"
I started to tear up a little

"But hey don't worry he's gonna be fine"

"Thanks I just can't wait for school to be over with"

"Tell you what"

"What?"

"When school is done wanna race to the hospital"

"That's a long way away"

"Are you chicken?"

"Your on"

"Ok let's go back"

We went back to the table

And of course when I wanted school to be over with it took the longest time to end

When it was finished I Bolted for the closest door outside the school and Petra had to hurry and catch up

"Wow your that worried"

"Yes!"

"Well let's actually get a fair start this time"

"Ok let's go"

We both went outside and got ready to run

I started counting

"3

"2"

"1"

"Go!"

We both stared running as fast as we can I was a little behind for half of it
But then Petra slowed down a little bit and I got in front and I little bit later I was in front of the hospital and I won
I pulled out a water bottle from my backpack and then Petra ran in front of me
I gave her a bottle too

"Jeez I forgot how fast you were!"

"Ha loser!"
I went inside and went to the front desk

"Excuse me what room is Lukas Porter in?"

"Room 120 on the second floor"

"Thank you"
I ran up the stairs to the second floor while Petra just took the elevator

I went as fast as I can without bumping into people and doctors
And I found the room I opened the door
I saw Lukas there lying in bed
He had an I.V and other stuff hooked up to him

I went over to his bed and sat on the side of it
He opened his eyes

"Jess?"

I hugged him

"Too tight!"

"Sorry I just couldn't stop thinking about you!"

"I missed you too!"

"Petra's on her way too and Jay is too but he's still walking"

"Their coming too?"

"Yep"

Then the doctor came in

"I'm sorry for interrupting but we have to do a blood test"

"Can you stay in here Jess?"
"I don't like Needles"

"Yeah"

I held his hand while they did

A while later it was 6:30 and we had to go home

"Hey Lukas,why don't your parents stay With you in the hospital?"

"They both work really late and they also have to take care of my younger brother"

"If they work late who takes care of him?"

"I usually do but now he has to stay at my Aunt's house"

"Well we gotta get going Lukas"

"Alright"

"We'll come see you tomorrow"

"Ok bye guys"

"Bye Lukas"
I hugged him and left
