"Mr. Knight," the nurse, Samantha, continued, "how are you?"

"Well Samantha," Kale replied smoothly, "I feel rather ravishing but I must say, your food makes my stomach a little upset. But other than that, I'm fine."

"Well that's great, the upset stomach is normal."

"Samantha, dear, can you please explain what is the problems with the breathing rock over there?" Kale questioned.

I softly giggled at that. Ever since Kale woke up yesterday, he continues to attempt to start up a conversation. He came up with some names, but not in a way to be rude. He acts like we have known each other since forever.

Samantha probably doesn't know this because she briefly looks to the ground awkwardly. "Ms. Hennings is probably coming to terms on what has happened, Mr. Knight."

Kale sighs loudly and Samantha must have taken that as a cue to leave for she says her goodbye's, and softly closes the door on her way out.

"Candace," Kale calls out after a few minutes of silence.

I slowly turn my head to the side. It's hard to forget seeing his unconscious body on the plane but I push that image to the back of my mind.

"I know what your going through," he says quieter, as if he doesn't want anyone else to hear, "but I try to forget. I can help, please just talk, even just to me."

I break the eye contact and look at the ceiling. I don't know what it is, maybe because I've never had this before, but I just feel like I can trust him. He's not like a teacher at school who say you can trust them but could basically not care. Kale seems to mean it.

Looking back to Kale where it seems he didn't look away, I croak out, "Okay."

This causes a huge smile to spread across Kale's face. "Just what I wanted to hear."

I can't help but return the smile and shift to my side so I am facing Kale. Suddenly, I am bombarded with seeing Kale next to me on the plane. I remember seeing all of the blood from other people covering him. I feel a few tears fall from my eyes and fall down my face, but I hope he doesn't notice.

"Shit," Kale mumbles, confirming the fact that he notices the tears.

What surprises me next is the dip in my bed and two strong arms warping along me as a laying down sort of hug. I instantly wrap my one arm and what is left of my other around his shoulders and softly cry into his hospital gown.

"Why does it feel like I've known you forever?" Kale says softly, breaking the silence.

"Don't question it, your the best I've got." I reply sadly.

Kale doesn't question, and we lay there, tangled together, content.
