Chloe walked down the halls for the thousandth time she glimpsed at a portrait of blond with two braided ponytails. She was was missing a tooth and looked six years of age. Chloe signed remembering the day she came here.
Little Chloe leaped ahead of the trusted maid pushing carrier cart carrying her bags. Her sticky kid finger grabbed the door knob to her father's room turning before the maid could stop her. The door opened as her father placed a similar framed picture of the girl face down on the side table. The girl remembered what photograph was on the side table from the times she been in the room before. "Daddy" she hugged her father leg. Her father stood surprised by her timing. "Why did you lay Emily's picture down? It's suppose to go up so you can see her. See?" Young Chloe stood on her tip toes to reach the frame and stand it up so the smiling picture of Emily stared at her father.
"Ahh yes that is how it works, your so smart my little bee." Her father picked her up and held her in one arm while the other place the frame in the drawer without Chloe seeing. The maid then entered the room exhausted from trying to keep up with the young girl.
The two Bourgeois's turned their attention towards the maid. "Does she have everything need for the vacation house?" Chloe's father asked still holding the little girl in his arms.
The maid nodded in response. "Daddy how long will I be there?" Little Chloe said as he put her down.
"It will be a while" Andere said trying to be as vague as possible. He grabbed little Chloe's hand so they could walk out together, or more like Chloe running out dragging her dad behind her. The maid followed.
It wasn't her usual limo they were riding in. I was a dark truck. The windows were tinted so she was not visible to the people passing by. She now knew this was because nobody was to know she was there. Little Chloe has stretched the seatbelt, so she could stand and look out the window to the crowded street next to her, as the truck paused at a stop light. She waved at the people who couldn't see her as her father tried to get her to sit back down.
"Daddy, where's Emily? I haven't seen her in a while." Chloe gave her father a clueless look.
"She went to the special camp I've told you about like your other sisters." Her father replied forcing a smile upon his face.
"Will I ever go to that camp?" Chloe was now sitting down, swinging her legs back and forth.
"Hopefully not" Chloe gave her father a sad look. "...I mean maybe sweet pea."
"Daddy I miss them." Chloe said looking at her feet
"Me too sweetie, me too."
They finally arrived at an old buliding. The paint was coming off and vegetation on the property was dead and dry. Little Chloe looked up at her father confused why he would bring her here when their place was way nicer.
"It's a lot nicer inside" he replied.
And it was, she past through the halls that smelled of dust looking at portraits of people she knew or was too young to know. They stopped at a bedroom decorated in an ugly floral pattern that was on the walls and bed spread. Andre spoke. "This will be your room" His words were shaky. "You are allowed to explore the house if you want as long as you don't go outside. The maid will unpack your stuff then leave, she will also come to pick you up for school." He said in almost a whisper, "There's a fruit basket if you get hungry. Be cautious." Her father picked Chloe up and kissed her forehead. He set her down with tears in his eyes and tried to walk away.
"Daddy" she grabbed his leg "why are you doing this, please don't leave me." Said the six-year old almost in tears.
He bend down so he was face to face with his daughter. "Would I ever doing something to you if it wasn't for you're best interest." Andre said almost to himself. Chloe shook her head no. He then turned, he left her with his maid as he tried not to cry in front of her.
From then on Chloe spent most of her days in the house. She complained about the solitude for two years. Then one day she realized why she was sent here. She was In the middle of the hallway when the reason she was hidden away form the world hit her. She collapsed on the floor, tears running down her face as she tried to muffle her sobs with her palm. Emily's portrait looking down at her almost disappointed.
Back in Marinette's room the ever curious Marinette rush past her kwami and down the stairs and through the apartment complex to her great grandmother's room with her kwami following suit. She went up into the bedroom and started searching. Her kwami dodge cloths thrown in the air by Marinette as she dug around in a wooden dresser. The kwami gave a confused look not understanding what she was looking for, then it dawned on her.
"The suit isn't here Marinette." The cheery voice said to the frantic girl.
"What, then where is it." The girl stuck her head out of the closet and noticed the mess she made.
The kwami flew over to her head tapping her earrings.
"How is that even possible?" Mari felt her ears.
"Magic" The kwami replied simply.
"How do I get them out" Marinette tapped her earring as she looked in a nearby mirror.
Tikki flew in front of her, blocking her face in the mirror. "Say my name and spots on."
The teen exhaled "Tikki, spots on."
She looked down at her feet a pink light moved up her legs to her head. As the light passed she feel her hair blow upwards.
She looked down again. A red suit with black dots felt like a second skin on her. She thought about her powers her great grandmother had told her she had been given with the miraculous, slowly she bend down in front of a clear spot on the now dirty room, she put her hand flat on the ground. She lifted her legs into the air with ease, she cautiously worrying about her powers limitations put one of those hand out to the side. She stretched her legs until she was doing a split in mid-air. 'Cool' Marinette said under her breath in awe of her newly discovered flexibility and strength. After some more leg stretchs she stood back up. She felt herself and noticed a something around her hip. She removed it and held the matching acceroies in her hand. "A yo-yo" It remind her or her first yo-yo.
Marinette's fifth birthday, her family gather around her, looking down as she sat on the rug in the middle of the room opening her presents. She opened a small box with a red yo-yo in it. The girl face lit up when she saw it she tried the yo-yo. She threw the yo-yo down but had trouble spinning it back up. The girl's face sadden as she could not make it work.
"You want to see a trick" a voice from above said to little Marinette.
"Sure Zumu" she replied giving her the yo-yo. Her great grandmother started by throw the yo-yo down before it spun back up. She showed her simple yo-yo tricks like the elevator and the dog. She then played with yo-yo like it was lasso moving it so fast it looked like it glowed. She threw her yo-yo at another present from across the room. She pulled the yo-yo back to her sending the present into little Mari's hands. Zumu looked down at the girl who was awestruck.
"Teach me Zumu, teach me." Little Marinette said as she bounced with excitement.
"After you finish opening the rest of your present" she replied look at the one she brought over with the yo-yo. During the rest of the spring and summer she spend time with her great grandmother learning all her tricks and becoming an expert yo-yoer.
"Is that why you taught me? so I'd be prepared to be the next Ladybug?" She look at where Tikki was before but she was absent. She twirl around "Tikki" she whispered-yelled. 'Is gone for good?' Marinette worried to herself. 'No, she said she would stay with me until I knew everything about the Miraculous, I don't know much, I'll try to find her later.'
With that she ran up to the balcony, where she remembered she had no idea where the queen bee lived. She looked at the yo-yo still in her palm, 'maybe this could help me.' She pressed the black polka dot in the middle of the yo-yo, making it flip open showing a detailed map of Paris.
Around the map were symbols, preset locations. On the top was a microphone. Request location via her voice she assumed. Next to it was a black and white picture of a fox. Out of curiosity she press it. A pop up appeared "Holder does not give you permission to have their location". 'I guess some information was removed when Hawkmoth started stealing miraculouses' she thought. Near the bottom one symbol was in color, a yellow bee. She tapped the bee with her thumb before a green line appeared on the the map. It went between her home and the location of queen bee on the map. The bluenette study the map for a minute before swing her yo-yo at a nearby building and pulling herself off into the air.
She swung through the Paris skies with grace and direction. She tried to go in the path she remembered from her yo-yo but felt lost when she swung herself into a gated area surrounding an outdated building. The yo-yo retracted into her palm so she could open it to look at the Paris map. A pop-up appeared on the screen, "you are here" it read. Marinette questioned why a queen would be living here, but walked up to the house anyways.
Marinette first knocked on the door hoping the queen would go to the door see she was Ladybug and let her in. Next to the door was a scanner, she assumed it was a fingerprint scanner and knew their was no way it recognize her finger as she had never been here before. After a minute of waiting outside on the creeking steps she decided to check the scanner to see if their was another button that let her talk to someone on the other side. She press her finger on the corner of the scanner unknowingly causing it to beep. The noise startled the girl who fell out her crouch position on to her butt. Standing back up she saw the words 'invalid miraculous please try again", lighting up the screen.
"Miraculous scanner, who knew she whispered to herself" she turned her head to the side and bent back down so the scanner could recognize her Miraculous. The door slowly open revealing a dimly lit entrance way.
...
Marinette had spend the last five minute combing through the halls and rooms of the old mansion. The creeking floor alerting her to whoever was inside. She was now walking thought a hall of pictures. Each one sad with little girls dressed in all black, all with blue eyes and blond hair. Mari always thought looked so soft and cute on people. In the middle of the hall a vault door loomed over the petite superheroine. The door was ajar so it wouldn't lock whoever was in the room in. Marinette pushed the door open reveal the last thing she expected to see.

Chloe.
