When the girls reached the park, they were in awe. They had both been there when they were very little, but it had changed so much since they were five years old! Most of the older, slower rides had been replaced with monstrous works of iron and steel. The place was thrill rides galore! Plus, since it was a weekday, there were scarce amounts of people because most were working, and the majority of  tourists hadn't arrived yet, because there was still two weeks until the fourth of July, which was when things started to get busy there. The girls had gotten their season passes online, so all they had to do was have them scanned, and then they were free to begin their summer fun!

The girls were overwhelmed by all that was around them. Allison was amazed by the variety of rides that were located inside the park, and Hallie was captivated by all of the cute workers and local boys that spent their days there, as well as the humongous contraption that stood approximately 200 feet tall in front of her.

The ride was called "The Iron Giant," and it looked terrifying. Hallie was keen on doing crazy things, but going on this ride just might be the craziest thing she'd ever do, and she knew she was going on it eventually. Hallie knew that Allison had a fear of heights, but she was going on that ride even if she had to drag Allison on kicking and screaming. Hallie was determined to not miss out on that opportunity this summer. Allison also saw the monster of a ride looming above her like an angry shark that just caught a whiff of blood. She knew exactly what Hallie was thinking, and  her thoughts were confirmed by the look that Hallie had just given her. It was a look of fierce determination, and it terrified Allison. She knew that Hallie was going to make her go on the ride.

"Later." Allison said before Hallie could get a chance to try to convince her to get on the ride. Allison started walking towards where the milder rides were located, figuring they'd start off easy. Hallie knew that it was typical of Allison to start off safe, so Hallie played along, knowing she would loosen up later on.

"How about the swan boats?" Allison proposed. The swan boats were literally the babiest ride in the park, and Hallie was a little upset that Allison wanted to start off the day so mildly, but she agreed to go on. If it were up to Hallie, they'd be running full speed to the biggest rides in the park. The swan boats were on the opposite side of the park, and once they arrived, they were glad that was the ride they chose.

Docking one of the swan boats, was one of the most gorgeous boys that Allison and Hallie had ever seen. He was tall, and tan. He had dark hair, and the cutest dimples next to his cherry lips that covered his perfect teeth. He wasn't exactly Hallie's type, so she wasn't interested; but she would most defenitely agree that he is completely stunning. Allison, on the other hand was more than interested, she was in love. Or, at least she thought she was. He was gorgeous, and she couldn't help but stare. "Are you alrght?" asked Hallie. She had never seen Allison look that way before, Hallie thought Allison was going to throw up.

"Yeah, I'm.. um.. fine." Allison gasped; but she wasn't fine. She had just fallen head over heels for some Mario Lopez look-a-like that worked at an amusement park, and that she had never even talked to before. It was SO not like her.

When it was Allison and Hallie's turn to be seated on the boat, Allison staggered over and had to fight herself from walking up to him and kissing him on his perfect cherry lips right there. He looked directly at her, and she could totally tell that he was staring right at her big ol' schnozz that was protruding right from the center of her face. Allison had never felt more self-concious in her life. Hallie realized that Allison was floundering, she was like a fish out of water flopping her wet body all over the dry ground. She couldn't breathe, and there was nothing Hallie could do about it except let her be in love.

Before the swan boat left the dock, Allison got a glimpse of her dream-man's nametag.

It said-

Max Fresco worked pulling the swan boats up to the dock so that riders could exit the boat, and new ones could get on. He was very handsome, and he knew it, too. He was used to girls fauning over him, but this one girl that he had just seen, she wasn't fauning. He didn't like it, not one bit. He was eighteen, and despite how handsome he was, he enjoyed being a bachelor. But, this one girl made him swoon. Her mint green eyes were so captivating, and he just couldn't stop staring.

The girl was giving him the oddest look. Did she not like him? Who didn't like him?

He certainly knew he liked her, and he wasn't going to let her get away. She'd like him eventually, even if he had to make her.

When Allison and Hallie returned from their swan boat ride, Max was still there, still staring right at Allison. What is wrong with me? Allison thought. She couldn't understand why he was staring at her so intently. Does he really think I'm that ugly? Allison wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. She practically ran from the ride, finding shelter from Max's gaze at a nearby gift shop.

"What is wrong with you?" Hallie asked, after catching up to her frazzled friend, "You practically had an aneurysm out there!" "That guy!" Allison exclaimed, "He kept staring at me! He was so gorgeous, and he probably thought that I was disgusting!" Hallie rolled her eyes, Allison was so naive. "He likes you," explained Hallie, "He was looking at you like that because he likes you." There is no way in hell he likes me, thought Allison, Hallie's my best friend and she's just trying to be nice. Whatever. Allison knew she wouldn't be going on the swan boats again anytime soon. Little did she know, Max did indeed like her, and she had ran away before he could say even a word to her.

The girls tried to forget the incident, but Allison could not. The whole rest of the day she kept thinking about Max, wondering what exactly was going to happen. She got butterflies in her stomach everytime she thought about him. He was difficult to resist.

As the day wound down and Hallie and Allison grew tired of walking around the enormous park, it came time for Hallie's grandfather to pick up the girls out in front. As the girls were walking towards the entrance, out of the corner of her eye, Hallie caught a glimpse of tall, tan, and handsome. "Allison!" Hallie whispered, "There's Max! Now's your chance to go say hi!" "No freaking way!" Allison squeaked, but it was too late, Max had caught sight of them, too. He began walking towards them, and Allison froze. Max had a sweet smile on his face that made Allison tremble. Max was nervous, too. He didn't generally talk to girls at work, but he thought Allison was special. The fact that she paid no attention to him -unlike other girls- made her seem ten times more attractive than she already was. Max was just afraid of her rejection.

"Hey" Max said, He reminded Allison of lemonade. Cool, and sweet, "Have a good night." He paused for an answer, and without recieving one, he walked awkwardly away. Allison was rooted to the ground, and her toungue felt heavy, she couldn't speak. "ALLISON! Why didn't you say hi?!" Hallie exclaimed. But, Allison couldn't answer her, she was in shock herself.

She didn't say hi... Max thought. Did I smell? Was there something in my teeth? She must think I'm some weirdo... Max was as shocked as Allison was, but he wasn't going to give up so easily.
