"Y/N, would you be a sweetheart and come here for a second?" A sympathetic smile slipped over my gentle, pink lips as I politely excused myself from the crowd of Justin's distant family members that had eagerly engulfed me into a lifetime telling of his embarrassing childhood stories. Pattie eyed me gratefully as I clicked my way across the patio to the small huddle of aunts and uncles that she was currently conversing with. This is the first year that Justin and I decided to spend Christmas with his family back in Canada and I couldn't help but admit my excitement. I was already having a blast and this was merely the Christmas party. "Everyone, I'd like you to officially meet Y/N. Her and Justin have been together for 3 years already."
Everyone 'oohed' and 'ahhed' when Pattie introduced me. "It really is a pleasure to finally meet you all."
"She's so pretty." A soft-faced blonde woman cooed as she tapped Pattie on the shoulder.
Pattie giggled while I blushed furiously. "I know, right? Look at the ring he just bought her." She grasped at my hand and didn't hesitate to show the large diamond clad ring on my finger. I simply smiled at the fact that she was still so amazed, even though Justin and I had revealed our engagement to her over three weeks ago. "Y/N is literally one of the best people that I could ever ask for as a daughter-in-law." Her comments were heart-warming. "But I'd like to know where my actual son is at this point."
Just as a slight giggle fell from my lips, I felt a hand curve smoothly around the dip of my hip and a warm peck in the crook of my neck. "Here I am," Justin's deep, raspy voice bellowed through my ears causing me to instinctively fall back into his embrace. "But I need to steal my fiance away for a minute if that's alright with you guys. I have something for her back in the house." His fingers slipped through my own and he squeezed my hand gently as he dragged me through the sliding doors that led to the living room.
"Your family is wonderful," I stood up faintly on my tip-toes, my hands fisting at the neckline of his black tee-shirt. He chuckled lightly, slipping an inked arm across the small of my back. My eyes flickered from his plump, reddened lips to his creamy, chocolate eyes several times before he took the opportunity to enclose them over mine in a wet, supple kiss.
"I'm glad someone thinks so. But look," his free hand sunk into the back pocket of his skinny jeans and emerged again with a rose gold iPhone 6s plus. "I stopped by the store and got your phone fixed." He handed it to me with a peck which I thankfully returned, and I grabbed it from him, freeing myself from his grip overall.
"Thank you, baby:" I plunked down on the couch and he did right next to me, his hand resting over the thickness of my thigh as my phone turned on slowly. He'd already began to scroll through the feed on his phone and I found myself clenching my thighs together at the sight of him - much like I always did. I was mentally undressing him, only to be interrupted be nearly thirty chimes from my untouched phone. We both looked down at it, curious as to what was so urgent, but when Kendall, Hailey, and Ari's names flashed over the screen, I knew something had to be up.
Justin had already looked away by the time I finished scanning over missed texts, and they all pretty much said the same thing: check his Instagram. It was the first thing that I did, my heart nearly pounding through my chest as his page loaded. And from the moment that I first saw it - him standing by his car with that girl - I felt like my heart had stopped and plummeted pitifully to my stomach. I stared at the photo, completely in awe, of how nearly two million people had liked it. I was shocked at his caption, 'Lord knows'. Lord knows what?! What hurt me most, however, was the fact that Justin and I had an argument about this same Jasmine girl a couple of days back. He knew I was insecure about her and he told me that it was nothing.
