"All right." Sydney began excitedly. "Today at breakfast mom and dad told me that we are going to a vacation in England for the next three weekends!!!"
"Oh ... So you are leaving me alone, aren't you?"
"Oh, no, I just thought ..." The playful smile appeared on her face. I loved this smile. "You'll convince your parents to come with us." Sidney raised her eyebrows.
"There's no chance that they agree to that. I know they have a past there and don't want to bring back their memories."
"Oh, Em, but you want to come, don't you? Imagine this: I'll get my dad to take us to those cool little bays where we can bath, jump, remember ... as best friends? And the shopping? Walking around and staring at cool boys in Starbucks?"
"All right, well, I'll try to convince them! I love you so much!" I threw myself over her neck.
"How was school today, Em?" My father asked me as I walked into the house.
"As usual, dad. But" Dad looked surprised when I added this "but". "Sydney and her parents are going to go on vacation and I... And I really want to go with them. You know ... We're not going to do anything wrong, yet her parents will be with us all the time and" I sat on his lap and began to speak with a baby's voice. "You know how much I love you, don't you? Very, very, very much, more than the whole world and the universe! And ..."
"Hey, hey, hey, hey ... You think that I'm not gonna let you go? And where will be this vacation - Chicago, Canada ...?"
"London."
Dad's breath stopped after that word and he started coughing really bad. I patted him on the back, worried.
"Daddy, are you okay?" I got up from his lap.
"Yeah, I just ... Why exactly London? For nothing in the world I'll let you go there alone!"
"But I'm not going to be alone, dad, Sydney's parents will be there!"
"I meant what I said! I won't let you go! Period!"
"But Dad ...!"
"I said no!"
I went upstairs to my room, angrily. I knew he wouldn't let me go. I don't even understand why? What's happened there that he doesn't want to let me go? I'm so furious right now that I slammed the door into mom's face when she came to ask me how did school go. She doesn't deserve it but I'm so annoyed at this point that I'm ready to break the window with my bare hands!
Neutral point of view
"What happened, Harry?" Tessa asked him, stepping down the stairs. Harry sighed.
"Emery wants to go on a vacation with her friend and I told her I won't let her go, although she'll be with her parents."
"Wait, wait, wait, what vacation? Do Sydney's parents know? Why wouldn't you let her go, you know Sydney's a good girl!"
"You wouldn't let her go as well!"
"Why wouldn't I?"
"Because Emery wants to go to London, Tessa, that's why I don't want to let her go!" Harry shook hands in the air and got up from the couch. Tessa was bothered for a second.
Fifteen minutes later Tessa got into their room. He was laying and staring at the ceiling. She laid down on the bed next to him.
"We shouldn't look into the past, you know that, right?" Tessa began.
"I don't want to go back to that place. If I met Mark and ... Drugs ... I don't know how I would bear ... I'm just sorry for what I did to you ..." Tears were already in Harry's eyes.
"Hey." Tessa looked at him and put her hand on his cheek. "What happened in the past stays in the past. We can't change that, but look at us, I'm here with you now. We have children with whom we are proud of, enjoying a peaceful life ... Do you remember how we dreamed about this as young kids? Well, without the children, but we're even happier, aren't we? I will never leave you anymore, whatever happens. I love you, Harry."
"I love you too, Tess."
" Don't say "too" ". They both laughed. "Look, I think Emery needs a break. We are happy with her success at school and we have to let her go." Harry's face again darkened. "If you don't want to let her go alone, we can go with her, the whole family. Like ... a family vacation. We simply ignore the bad memories and enjoy the present."
Harry sighed.
"You might be right."
Tessa smiled and came closer to him.
"Might?"
Harry smiled broader and put Tessa between his legs.
"You know I would do everything for you."
She bent down and kissed him. Harry lowered his hand under the slim fabric of her leggings. She was wet.
"No ..." Tessa grunted. "The kids are at home." Harry got up quickly and locked the door. He took a condom from the drawer under the wardrobe.
Tessa teared down his jeans, along with the boxers and covered his length. He groaned at the touch. He hauled Tessa from beneath and started with a slight push, hurrying every second. When Tessa was coming her she grabbed the sheets and groaned. Both ended at the same time.
"I love you, my love." Harry whispered to her, kissing her.
"I love you." Tessa repeated, trying to normalize her breathing.
Emery
Emery: Have a nice time in London, they didn't let me go with you ... :-(
I sent Sydney a message and leaned on the bed. What was there so much about London? Did any serial killings or something like that happen? Sometimes I think I should start reading "After" soon...
I went down to the kitchen because I was hungry. I took a chocolate pudding from the fridge with one large spoon. Two moments later mom and dad appeared.
"Em?" Mom called me quietly. "Your father wants to tell you something."
Dad ran his fingers through his hair, as he always does when he's nervous.
"Uh ... When are we going?"
"What?" I looked him confused. "What's going on?"
"Be clearer!" My mom poked him but of course I heard it.
"Um ... I guess we can make a little family trip to ... you know ... London."
I couldn't believe these words. I covered my mouth with my hand so that I didn't scream and threw myself on my father's neck.
