It seems to be a year of death and loss
Added black to my wardrobe reminds me
Cannot unsee the corpse beneath a cross
Buried in cold snow, under a dead tree
Three bodies lie, separated by earth
Place roses of red and roses of white
Stories told, no one understands their worth
The snow did not stop, it covered the night
I learn about the side I never saw
Making jokes with my friends, laughing through the pain
Screaming in the wind till my throat goes raw
Smile forced on my face, what do I gain?
I cannot block the horrible notion
The greatest human error, emotion.
