Alex Goldrest. She hated the name. She hated the life. The world sucks, and the healing cuts hurt like hell. Her mother never listens, her siblings beat her despite Alex being the oldest. Blood covers any of her light colored sleeves, and she always wears her long fuzzy blue or black leather Jacket everywhere other than in her room.
And yet, Alex's mother never noticed. Her siblings practically begged her to kill herself on a daily bases. Great, typical ruitine. Go to high school where she feels like she will never belong, then go to an abusive home which SHOULD be her safe place. Locking her bedroom door never did help the sixteen year old freshmen. The banging fists and taunting shouts that made her want to throw a dagger right between someone's eyes despite the concequences would never stop. She had no job, too scared of having to talk to everyone around her. When would it end?
It wouldn't. This would never end until the day she died. Problem there was, Alex was scared to die. She was numb, and terrified to live. At the same time, she was scared of killing herself and missing something she was needing. So...Alex just kept on waiting, kept watching for a sign despite the pain.
Her rope was growing short though. Alex couldn't keep waiting forever. She only had one true friend, Emily. Her boyfriend was in her grade, Freshmen, but was 15 thanks to never being held back. The kiddo was cute, hyper, and at times completely crazy. Occasionally, Alex wondered how he ever managed to fall for someone like her. After all, she talked at school to keep from crying, or sat in a corner reading without a word. When she was alone with her boyfriend, H, Alex sat beside him, allowing him to listen to her music and on special occasions confiding in him. They'd broken up once before, but something just drew her closer.
Now, Alex Goldrest sat in world history. She caught up on a few video assignments, then decided to read a book from the library. Eventually the lunch bell rang, and with hesitation the girl headed to the cafeteria. She got a full meal so she wouldn't have to pay extra money, but only ate a piece of a breadstick before throwing away her tray and heading to the bathroom to wash off some of her most recent wounds which had bled onto her striped shirt. Good thing that electric blue zip up covered by a leather Jacket prevented any snitches from seeing her.
