In Abira's Room on Olympus.

"Percy. What did your dad mean when he said I was the chosen one?"

"Abi. The day you were born, the oracle prophesised that a young girl born to Ares would one day vanquish the beast who threatens gods and titans alike. The beast was created to destroy that girl because she has the ability to bring peace to the gods and titans. That girl is you that is why we got moved to Olympus, it's safer for us both."

"Why's it safer for you?" my thoughts are whirring around my head. Me? The chosen one? I've heard people talking about the prophecy but I have never known which god the child is the offspring of.

"I'm your sidekick." Percy's proud voice awakens me from my trance. I stand and walk out. I'm going to confront my father. But first, I'm going to do a little research...

The weapons room of Olympus

"Dad! How come you never told me I was the chosen one? I've been at Camp Half-Blood for over a year and yet you never thought to tell me that I have to defeat the Empusa"

The Empusa is a beautiful woman, who transforms into a creature with sharp teeth, flaming hair, and bat wings. The Empusa is a demigoddess under the control of her mother, the goddess Hecate. The Empusa would often seduce young men traveling alone. Once the unsuspecting youth was fast asleep, the creature would shift to her hideous form and devour the boys flesh and drink his blood for sustenance.

My dad looked up from the electrified spear he was admiring,

"Abira, I didn't want to put pressure on you because of the dreadful task you have to do. You have been through so much already." My father's pathetic excuse makes me feel sick. I just stand and leave. Time to visit Hephaestus for a new charm.

Hephaestus' forge

"You'll need a celestial bronze dagger to add to the many charms. Although all of your other charms are silver, this one will look bronze from the outside as well. It'll be ready in around five minutes." Hephaestus is about to make a new charm for my bracelet, it's going to be made of the only material to defeat the demon. I give him a hug before I walk out to go and apologise to Percy for walking out on him.
