[season two.]
"chapter one: 'madmax'"
"Please. I want to come too." Seven moaned at Joyce.

"Honey, I'm sorry, but it's not safe. Just for tonight, let Will go out and see Mike, Lucas and Dustin at the arcade." Joyce said in reply as she searched for her car keys.

"But I want to come!" Seven persisted.

"No, Sev." Joyce said calmly as she found her key. Let me come. I want to go out. It has been a long time, so me see everyone. Please, Seven wiped her nose.

"Mom, she just controlled you," Will grinned.

"Fine, but don't make yourself too noticeable. Hopper's probably not going to be happy..." Joyce trailed off. "All right, come on then." Seven and Will followed Joyce into the car excitedly.

"Is it good?" Seven asked excitedly.

"It's so much fun. Dustin's the best out of all of us though. He's got the top scores on Dig Dug and Centipede." Will grinned.

"Dustin is good." Seven stated.

"Wh-what do you mean? Like, he's a good person, yeah. He's nice." Will stammered, looking at Seven with confusion as the arcade came into view. Ahead, by the bike racks, they saw Mike, Lucas and Dustin putting their bikes away. Joyce beeped the car's horn and waved over at them.

"Okay, so I'm going to pick you up in two hours. That's nine o'clock on the dot, okay?" Joyce turned to face Seven and Will.

"Okay, okay." Will began, but was cut off.

"Okay, and if anything happens, I want you to call me. Just ask to use their phone, okay? And don't-"

"Don't walk or bike home. We know." Will finished for his mother as he began to get out of the car.

"And sweetie - have fun." Joyce finished. Seven and Will left the car, excitement on edge. The arcade was a whole new experience for Seven. Bright, loud and exciting. She was used to it being fairly quiet in the Byers house, except when all the boys were over. Will led Seven to a game that Dustin was playing, Mike and Lucas watching over his shoulder.

"To slay the dragon, use the magic sword." A cartoon woman wearing very little was on the screen. Seven wrinkled her nose.

"Oh, Jesus, I'm in uncharted territory here guys." Dustin groaned. Mike and Lucas started shouting directions at him as a dragon appeared. "I'm going! I'm going! Shut up, shut up, shut up!" He grinned as he kept his eyes fixed on the screen, but his face fell when his character was burnt and killed by the dragon. "No, no, no! I hate this overpriced bullshit! Son of a bitch! Piece of shit!" He smacked the controls with his fists.

"You're just not nimble enough. But you'll get there one day. Until then, Princess Daphne is still mine." Lucas smirked as he gestured to the woman.

"Princess Daphne?" Seven asked.

"Oh, hey, Sev." Dustin's face lit up. "Yeah, you're meant to save her from the dragon. It's just a game, though. But whatever. I'm still top on Centipede and Dig Dug."

"You sure about that?" They all turned to see a spotty teenager holding a bag of chips.

"Sure about what?" Dustin asked apprehensively. The teenager simply took another bite of cheese puff as he watched the boys and Seven rush over to the games in question. "You're kidding. No, no, no, no. No! No!" He shouted as he saw his name in second.

"Seven hundred and fifty one thousand three hundred points!" Will exclaimed.

"That's impossible." Mike said.
