A/N: Guren is the reader's servant.

You groaned dramatically as you rolled around on the soft, fluffy rug. You were bored out of your mind and you saw no reason why you shouldn't let everyone know. "Gurennnnn. I don't know what to dooooo. Rather, there's nothing to dooooo." You complained for the millionth time. "I'm boooooored to deaaaaaath..."

"Like I said, find something to do, Milady. I can accompany you on a walk in the gardens, or I can make afternoon tea early, or I can call the quartet or the choir over, or I can escort you to the theatres..." Guren then frowned and said in a heavily reluctant and disapproving voice, "Or would you rather we spar again?"

"Oh, Yes! Yes please!" You jumped up clapping your hand excitedly, the feeling of boredom was instantly replaced by pure elation. You were a tomboy and it was impossible for you to stay still.

Guren sighed wearily, obviously tired of your behaviour and for a moment you felt sorry for him. After all, putting up with you was no easy feat and you felt that the only reason he even did put up with you was because he was courting you. But before you could apologise, a boy who you recognised as your squire bursted into the room. "Milady!" He exclaimed when he spotted you. He was a good boy at heart, but he could be quite a bit naive and clueless at times.

"Is something wrong, Jasper?" You asked, sitting up and giving him your full attention.

"There is another attack on the West Fortress! We're outnumbered since all of our knights left earlier this morning to do the monthly rounds! What do we do?" Jasper's eyes were wide with panic as he explained hurriedly.

You immediately stood up and told him, "Go to the messenger pigeons and send them to the knights with a note telling them to come back as fast as possible." Without another word you hurried out, grabbing your sheathed sword and cloak in the process.

You ran as fast as you could until you reached the west fortress where you climbed up the stone wall. You glanced down and frowned, Jasper was right, we were indeed outnumbered by many. The only fighters we had available were the squires, who, were no more than boys who had little to no experience in a real fight. If this continued, there would be more than just injuries. Deaths were the last thing you wanted.

Without a second thought, you swiftly jumped down, as agile as a cat. You slipped and weaved through the melee until you reached the heart of the fight where the main source of trouble was coming from. Standing arrogantly on top of a small tower of dead bodies you recognised as your own men was the general of Atcheshu who went by the name Thorn, your archenemy.

You gave a cry of distress, as your men meant more to you than you could ever put into words. To see them being slaughtered like this brought forth a emotion that made your heart ache. You ran towards Thorn, sword in hand. You brought the sword down hard, attempting to at least cut of his arm that was ever so jazzily resting on his hip. But he blocked it easily with his own sword.

But you weren't going to give up, not just yet. You jerked up your leg, kneeing him between his legs and he collapsed to his knees with a whimper of pain in response to your move. You smashed the hilt of the sword down on his head and immediately passed out cold. You then saw a flicker of a movement on your left and you instantly knew that you could not dodge the incoming hit fast enough.

You involuntarily lifted up your arm, hoping to at least protect your head. But the blow did not land. And as you dropped your arm in surprise, you realised that it was Guren that had blocked the hit. Damn, talk about a knight in shining armour.

Guren turned around, his eyes searching your body for injuries and when he deemed you as uninjured, he sighed in relief and rubbed his temples. "Please please please, be careful. You almost gave me a heart attack, at least wait for me next time. It would kill me if anything happened to you."

You felt you cheeks heat, and you grinned. "Nothing ever happens to me! Plus, what do I need to be afraid of if I have you to protect me every time?" You grabbed his hand. "Fight along side with me for eternity?"

"Is that a proposal?" He asked jokingly.

You pinched his cheeks affectionately. "Of course. Do I have a yes? Or are you going to reject me?"

"Obviously yes. Dammit, and I was hoping that I could do the proposing!"

"Propose to me another time, first, there's something we need to resolve." You turned toward the bloody chaos in front of you. But you felt same with Guren watching your back, and maybe, even for eternity yeah?
