Goddess of Cherry Tomatoes

The sun shone brilliantly over the canopy of bright green leaves as Cindy, Vy, Violet, and Jenny were hiking up the slightly steep hill. As they stopped for their picnic and unpacked their lunch, Violet started laughing like a mad-woman.

"What's so funny?" Cindy asked while taking a bite of her PB&J sandwich.

"Cher-cherry tomato!" Violet managed to say while laughing her butt off. Vy sighed

"It's funny." Violet stated.

"It's not funny!" Vy protested. Vy noticed that both Cindy and Jenny were trying to hold back their laughs, but they weren't really good at it.

"Yes, great goddess cherry tomato is here!" Cindy joked. Vy threw three cherry tomatoes at her.

"Frick you, O' Great Goddess of Cherry Tomatoes," Cindy pouted in a weird way.

"Whatever. I like cherry tomatoes." Vy said.

"Hey did anyone pack oranges?" Violet asked after she was done with her sandwich.

"Um...I don't think I did." Jenny told her.

"Me neither." Cindy said guiltily.

"Cindy, it was your job to pack!" Violet exclaimed.

"Geez. Calm down Violet. You can go a day without oranges." Vy said. Violet grumbled in frustration as Jenny stood up.

"Can we head back? I want to take a nap." Jenny said while scrolling through Instagram.

"Wait, what? There's not internet out here!" Vy was confused.

"Data."

"Oh."

"What about your lunch? You never started it. It's a perfectly good grilled cheese sandwich." Cindy pointed to Jenny's lunch.

"Nah, I'm not hungry." Jenny yawned.

"Can I have it?" Violet and Cindy asked at the same time.

"Um. .Vy? You want it?" Jenny asked.

"Huh? Me? Oh. No thanks." Vy answered. Just then, her phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hello? Is this Vy?" The stranger asked.

"Um. .uh. . .yes."

"Hi! This is Karen. Do you mind giving your phone to Cindy? She wouldn't pick up her cell."

"Sure. But first you have to answer one question. Why do you have my number?" Vy asked, getting suspicious.

"Violet!" Vy ran to her after handing her phone to Cindy.

"Why would you give Karen my number? She told me it was you."

Violet only shrugged. "I figured it might be useful one day. Like today!"

"But you have to tell me first!" Vy exclaimed. "I'll let this happen 'cause I know Karen. If it happens again, I swear I will-"

"Okay! Okay okay I get it." Violet put up her hands defensively.

"Okay let's go!" Cindy called to them.

"Cindy get back here!" Vy yelled. Cindy ran off with Vy's phone and began snooping.

"Hmm, let's see. BTS Blood sweat and Tears, Twice Likey, Blackpink Stay, BTS Not Today, and more. I see. All you listen to is K-pop."

"Give it to me!" Vy snatched it back. "Who told you to steal my phone?! Would you like it if I stole yours?"

"I would not care."

"Really?" Vy ran back to their RV and came back out with Cindy's phone.

"What the- give that back!" Cindy tried to reach for it, but Vy wouldn't let her get it.

"I thought you wouldn't care." She teased. Cindy groaned.

"Why do you do this to me Vy?"

" 'Cause you did it to me first!"

"Why are you guys arguing?" Violet asked. She took Cindy's phone out of Vy's hand and handed it to Cindy.

"Ha," Cindy stuck her tongue out at Vy. "She'd side with me, not you, Great Goddess of Cherry Tomatoes."

"Ha back! I took your phone while you weren't looking!"

Violet face-palmed. "Why do you guys make me feel so mature and old?"

"Cause you are old? Granny," Vy said.

"No! What the heck? Cindy's nicer. I'm not old. Right Cindy?"

"Well, you're only a few months older than us," Cindy reasoned thoughtfully. "Wait, no. Never mind. We're not as old as dinosaurs."

"Hey! Cindy, I thought we back each other up!"

"Melanie Martinez: Piggyback, Melanie Martinez: You Love I, Melanie Martinez: Blue Knees. Dang, Cindy, all you listen to is Melanie Martinez!" Vy voice suddenly came out of nowhere.

" 'Cause she's good! Unlike your Kpop and BTS."

"What?! BTS and other Kpop are amazing!"

"Okay, we'll make an agreement. If you listen to my music, I'll listen to yours."

"No deal. I don't want to listen to Melanie Martinez." Vy grimaced and pretended to throw up.

"Dramatic much?" Cindy asked. Vy shook her head.

Cindy pushed her playfully. "Whatever, cherry tomato."
