Rain fell in thick droplet on to her skin and slid down her face, they mixed with her hot tears. She sniffled and looked around at the cars passing by and splashing mud up onto the concrete walkway. She watched as a couple huddled under an umbrella for shelter, the two men were giggling as they talked over the sound of the rain. She saw another couple, the man holding an umbrella for his girl as she walked under it and he walked beside her, letting the rain fall on to him.

The woman put her head in her hands and quietly sobbed to herself. After a few minutes of wallowing in pity, she heard a familiar voice. "(Y/N)?" It asked. She calmed her cries as she pulled her hands away from her face. "Yes?" She croaked, still not looking at the person.

A warm body sat down next to her and the rain suddenly stopped above her as she was shielded with an umbrella. The person nudged her with their broad shoulder. "What are you doing siting out here in the cold and rain?" A thick French accented voice asked. She sniffled and shrugged, not answering him.

A soft hand loosely griped her chin and turned her to face them. She kept her eyes downcast as the man inspected her face. "Ma Cherie, what is the matter?" He asked.

(Y/N) let a single tear slip out her her eye before turning away from him. She sat in silence and watched the cars passing by again. The arm hesitantly snaked back around her shoulder in an attempt to provide her with some warmth. Her sweatshirt was completely soaking wet, she looked like she had went swimming in her clothes.

A few minutes passed and the two just sat in silence. She let her tears fall from her eyes and he just pulled her closer whenever he heard her sniffle or sob. (Y/N) straightened her posture and broke the silence. "Laf... it's cold out here. You should go home and get some sleep, don't you have work in the morning?" She asked him in a small voice.

"I will go inside when you are ready to go inside." He told her as he shifted the umbrella to his other hand. She looked up at him with puffy, (E/C) eyes. He saw the makeup running down her face and the redness on her cheeks. She looked like hell, to say the least. But she was still beautiful in his eyes.

(Y/N) bit her lip then nodded. She turned back to watch the traffic. After a few more minutes of silence she spoke back up. "He cheated on me." She almost whispered. That made Lafayette stiffen. He pulled her closer to his side. "He did what?" He asked a angrily.

She nodded and leaned her head on his shoulder. He softened a little but she could still feel the anger radiating off of him. "I walk into our room and saw him on top of another woman." She buried her face into his chest. "I thought he was going to be the one... you know." She muttered into his shirt.

Lafayette used his free hand to stroke her hair. She wiped her eye as looked back at the passerby's watching the two with pity in their eyes. She focused in on Lafayette's heartbeat as she closed her eyes again. After another moment of silence Lafayette shook her out of her daze.

"Mon amie, where will you sleep, didn't you-"

"Just move in with that man hoe? Yeah, don't remind me." She sat up and ran a hand through her sopping wet hair. "I'll probably get a hotel room or something until I can figure this whole mess out." She sighed. Lafayette shook his head. "Non, you can stay at my place. I'll sleep on the couch and you take the bed." He said.

(Y/N) shook her head. "Laf, that won't be necessary. I'm sure the hotel will have plenty of rooms-"

Lafayette held up his hand. "I won't take non for an answer." He told her. She couldn't help but smile. She looked into his eyes full of anger and worry. In one swift motion she wrapped her arms around him in a tight embrace. She whispered, "Thank you" into his ear and she felt him stroke her hair.

"What is this?" A deep voice growled. The two pulled away from one another to see an angry man standing in front of them. His raincoat cast a shadow on his face but they both recognized his voice.

"What do you want, Lee?" Lafayette asked him in a dangerous tone. The man shoved his balled up fist into his pockets and turned his nose up at the two. "I came, French man, to find my fiancé who ran off so we could talk." He said as he pulled a ring out of his pocket.

"You dropped this in your rush to leave, dear." He said, holding it up. (Y/N) flashed him an angry glare. "Go away Charles, its over." She told him.

He laughed. "Do you honestly think you can drop me and go for this prick?" He scoffed, motioning to Lafayette. "He'll drop you the second he learns about all your little quirks and insecurities." He said with an evil smirk.

Lafayette growled. "Go to hell." As he stood up. He turned to (Y/N). "Let's get out of here." He said as he extended his hand to her. She looked at Charles Lee and then, with out a second thought, took Lafayette's hand in hers. The turned away and began to walk down the street.

"Pffft. I always knew there was something between you two, slut." He muttered to himself. Lafayette went ridged and stopped in his tracks. He turned to (Y/N). "Hold my umbrella." He told her and she took it.

He walked back over to a smirking Charles Lee and punched him right in the nose. Lee fell backward into a puddle of muddy water. He clutched his nose and cried out in pain. "What the hell!" He yelled. Lafayette took a step forward. "If you ever say something bad about this beautiful, amazing woman again, I will personally see to it that you loose the ability to talk shit about her ever again. Understand me?" He barked.

Lee nodded as he scrambled to his feet. Lafayette growled, "Get out of my sight." As Lee made a break down the street.

(Y/N) stared, jaw to the floor, at the man in front of her. He had actually punched her asshole boyfriend of four years in the face... and he had called her beautiful. Something Charles had yet to say to her.

Lafayette turned back around and walked back over to her. In one swift motion he pulled her into an embrace and crashed his lips on to hers. She was taken by surprise at first but melted into the kiss seconds later.

She dropped the umbrella and wrapped her arms around his neck. He pulled her tighter to him and dipped her slightly, deepening the kiss.

After a few more moments in one another's embrace Lafayette pulled away, much to (Y/N)'s displeasure. His face was flushed and his hair was soaked from the rain which fell down his face. (Y/N)'s heat fluttered as she looked into his loving eyes.

"I... am sorry." He panted. "I should not have done that." He muttered to her. She smiled and pulled his face closer to hers. "Really? Because I was hoping you'd do it again."

Lafayette laughed. "Maybe once be make it back to my place and are out of this rain." He said. (Y/N) raised an eyebrow at him. "Is this just your way of getting into my pants?" She asked him. His face turned a deep shade of red. "I... non! I..." He stuttered causing her to laugh.

"Joking Laf." She said as she bent down and picked the umbrella up. He rubbed the back up his neck. "Such a tease." He mumbled under his breath.

"What was that?" She asked. Lafayette held out his hand. "I'll... um... take the umbrella." He said. She handed it to him and linked her arm though his. The blush had not faded from his cheeks but a smile was forming on his face as the two walked side by side down the street.
