Rush hour was finally over. I was tired but happy that it was over. I walked up to one table that two guys sat at.

   " Hi guys my name is Y/n and I'll be your waiter. Are you ready to order?"

   " Yes, can I have an Ice coffee, with a slice of you."

   " Sorry sir I'm not on the menu, but I can get you a coffee cake with that iced coffee."

   " Sure."

   " And you Sir?"

   " I'll have the red cake with a cup of coffee."

   " Any sugar?"

   " Hold the sugar, please. You're sweet enough for me."

   " Your order will be right out."

I walked into the kitchen and gave KC the order. Aphmau was in there waiting for someone else to walk in.

   " I hate it when they try to use pick up lines. They're so cheesy."

   " I know, but we can't do anything. If they try and touch you then you have permission to smack them."

   " Oh okay. Well, I wish I could smack them right now."

I heard the bell go off above the door and Aphmau immediately got her notepad.

   " Be right back."

I nodded and she walked out going to the table.

   " Y/n~Sama your orders are ready."

   " Thanks, KC."

I picked up the tray that contained the sugar, the food, and drinks. I walked out and over to the table. I held the tray in one hand. While I set the food, drinks, and sugar on the table. I put the tray under my arm and asked

   " Anything else I can get you?"

   " No that's all unless I can get your number."

   " Sorry, but I'd rather not. Here's your check."

I put it on the table and walked away. I stood behind the counter setting the tray through the window.

   " Y/n?"

I turned around and seen Laurence behind me.

   " Oh! Hey Laurence."

   " Hey...umm....what are you doing here?"

   " I came here to get a little dessert and Aphmau asked me to work with her and I thought a second job wouldn't be too bad."

   " Oh, I see. I came to eat some cake, but there was no one at the register."

   " I'll serve you then. Go take a seat and I'll be there in seconds."

   " Thanks."

I nodded and he walked away. I grabbed a pen and I walked over to where Laurence was sitting.

   " So Sir what can I get you?" I said in a fancy tone. Laurence laughed and said

   " No, but what is good to you on the me-n-u?"

I laughed a little.

   " Cute Laurence. Real cute. "

   " Well don't guys flirt with beautiful girls. Especially here?"

I blushed a little bit.

   " Okay, seriously what would you like to eat?"

   " Okay, I'll have the flourless chocolate cake."

   " Alright, it'll be right out."

I went to the back and gave KC the order. Aphmau came back with her clothes on instead of the uniform.

   " Why are you not in uniform?"

   " Our shifts are over. Laurence is the last one in here."

   " Okay. I'll go change then too."

I went and changed back into my clothes and walked out. KC left the Cafe and I took Laurence's order to him.

   " Here's your order Laurence."

   " Okay thank you. "

I nodded and went to turn off the kitchen lights. Then I went and turned off the ceiling lights one by one. I left the one light on that was above Laurence's table. I walked back to Laurence's table and sat on the other side of the table.

   " I'm not holding you up am I?"

   " No your not."

   " If you say so. Are you heading back home after this?"

   " Ya."

   " Good I can walk you."

   " Thanks."

   " Not a problem.....Hey, can I tell you a story?"

I held up a finger as I took his plate and cup to the back and set it in the dishwasher. I came back and gestured for him to continue.

   " Okay so this guy loved his girlfriend so much, but she had doubts that he didn't love her. So what he did was he went to a flower shop and bought 12 roses. One was fake while the rest were real. He gave them to her and said " I will stop loving you when all these roses die.""

   " Aww, that's cute."

   " I know right. You ready to walk home?"

   " Ya. Let's go."

We walked outside and I locked up the cafe. We walked home talking about his story. When we got to my house. I unlocked my door and turned back to Laurence.

   " Well, Laurence thanks for walking me home."

   " Not a proble-I didn't pay for the cake!"

   " On the house."

   " No, you can't do that."

   " Why not?"

   " Cause then I would need to repay you."

   " No, you don't Laurence."

   " Yes, I do."

   " Bla bla bla. Either way, I'm paying for it. Goodnight Laurence."

He then grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it.

   " Goodnight."

Then he walked away. I stood there. Staring at his figure as he walked away.
