flashback
I sit in my room, blankly staring at the plain and simple walls.
I exhale and check my phone once more.
I shouldn't be this attached, should I?
Constantly waiting for him to text me.
When I haven't even texted him first.
Well I guess I should...
"Hey Eth."
No response.
"You okay?"
Still no response.
He might be doing something right now, I shouldn't worry.
I put my phone down and head to my back yard.
Being outside helps me when I'm anxious or upset.
Just the fresh air, or the rustling of the leaves, I guess... sort of gives off a calming and relaxing vibe.
When I'm outside, I'm greeted by a slobbery kiss on the hand by my dog.
His name is Charlie, and he's a golden retriever and australian shepherd mix.
He's truly the greatest boy in the world.
I sit down on the grass and wait for him to come over.
He sits down beside me, laying his head on my shoulder.
"I know, I know buddy."
"You're not the only one who's in need of some attention today.."
I pet his head and scratch his ears, and it seems as if his whole world had turned around.
He licks me again and rests his head on my leg.
I lay back, look up at the sky, and rest my eyes.
I awake, as the sun is setting.
When I get up, I hear my phone ringing from inside the house.
I rush to my house and into my room.
I jump onto my bed and pick up my phone.
"Hello?!"
"Haha- yeah, yeah! I- know fuc-"
"Ethan?!"
"Ooh- heyy... wha— haha— what's up?"
He's totally out of it, but I can't say I'm surprised either.
"Where are you?" I ask in suspicion.
"Ooh, no where speeciall." He says chucking.
"Dy- Dylan! stop it, shuuush!"
Dylan.
So he's at Dylan's house?
I hang up, grab my keys, and head out the door.
