"It's strange." Y/N stares at her reflection. There's movement behind her, arms slithering around her waist. Her eyes never looked away from her own. "Even with his face, his body, you've managed to make him look completely different."
Her eyes flicker over to his. Those dark, empty, soulless brown eyes watching her in completely amusement. He remained silent, almost as if he knew every little thing she was feeling, thinking, and about to say.
"Why do you always come here when you're running, Void?" He hums, chin resting against her shoulder.
"Because I know you love Stiles, and you'd betray your own family for him." He says smoothly, thumb rubbing gentle circles above her shirt. Y/N didn't bother finding comfort in it. She knew it was all a trick. He's a trickster, it's what he does. "I also know that you wouldn't dare hurt me, tell me to leave, or shut me out. You'd do anything to protect me."
Y/N sighs, grabbing his wrists and gently pulling his hands away from her waist. Void lets her, watching her stand and walk to the other side of her room with an amused grin. He could feel Stiles inside his head and nearly laughs.
"You know, Stiles is shouting at me right now? Just begging for you to run away." Y/N ignores him, grabbing a hair tie and pulling her hair up into a ponytail. "Do you want to know how he truly feels about you? What he thinks when you aren't looking?" Void stands and walks over to her, grabbing the hair tie and gently pulling it, letting her hair down. He puts a hand on her hip, moving her hair to the side and lightly kissing the frame of her ear. "Aren't you even a bit curious?"
"As his best friend." She whispers. "He's been in love with Lydia since the 3rd grade. All I am to him is his best friend, and I'll remain happy for him, even if it does hurt."
Void chuckles, shoulders shaking as he drops his forehead onto her shoulder. "You're just so pathetic, aren't you?" He spins Y/N around, looking down at her with a mischievous smile. "Though I must say, you've managed to shut him up with one sentence, so I'm impressed."
"No, you aren't." Void raises an eyebrow.
"Not really. I've lived for a thousand years, nothing surprises me anymore. I've met more girls like you than you'd ever see. Yet, I've never met a girl who knew exactly what I was and didn't look at me with disgust or fear, so you've got that going for you." He narrows his eyes in wonder. "Speaking of, why don't you? I'm torturing the love of your life in his own body. Why won't you look at me for what I am?"
"Because I know you'll die." Y/N whispers, moving Void away from her until her fingertips barely grazed against his chest. "Who knows, maybe it'll be me who kills you. Wouldn't you like that, Void?"
"Of course, love. Unfortunately, that all sounds too cliche and boring. How about something else instead?" His eyes darken. "I'm going to play with you however much I want until I've had my fill. Wouldn't you hate that, Y/N?"
Y/N hums, letting her arm drop to her side. "Doesn't sound boring." Her comment brings him joy. "See you at the finish line, Void." Void glances down at her stomach and chuckles, his laughter echoing around the room as he disappears.
