Harry's POV
"So, surprise me." I said while he took a seat in front of me, looking dead serious.
"Well,"
"Well? Come on, Chris, I'm not in the mood for your shit today."
"Okay, okay. I think we have a new case, H."
"Hmm, and what would that case be about? Please don't tell me someone stole something from mr. Luigi's house again, I mean come on, that man doesn't even close his front door properly!" I said getting annoyed.
"No, this one is serious. Harry, I'm going to tell you everything we already know but please, please, listen to me and do no interrupt me."
"Why, is this really-" I started asking.
"Styles!" Chris almost screamed trying to silence me, which he actually did.
"Okay, okay, sorry. Please continue, I'm listening." I managed to say after a few seconds of silence. Was that case that important?
" Okay so I'm sure you're aware of who Primrose Lancas is. In case you aren't, she's the CEO of Lancas Bank and the owner of Lancas Palace. A very classy woman, and a ridiculously rich one, may I add."
"She must be from a rich family, Chris. What's so interesting about that?"
"That's the thing. He doesn't come from a rich family. She doesn't even have a family."
"What?! Chris are you joking?" I breathed out in a state of pure shock. How the hell did she build the fucking Lancas Palace? And the bank? She basically owns an empire.
"No, I'm not. Her parents died when she was about eight in a fire that burnt down the house. The case was never solved and until this day we aren't sure how the fire started. The only persons that made it out alive are her and her younger brother, Alexander, who was six at that time. Their parents were never rich people, not even close to it. Tish, her mother was a chef at a local restaurant and Bobby, her father, was a taxi driver. We've just found out that both of them were drug addicts and used to beat both Primrose and Alexander. The Lancas brothers definitely did not have a nice childhood. Quite a sad story if you ask me." Chris said with a hint of pity in his voice.
"What happend after their parents died?" I asked him out of pure curiosity.
"They were taken in custody by an aunt, Tish's sister. The woman was nice, very poor, but nice. She took care of them until Primrose turned seventeen and Alexander turned fifteen."
"Why just until then?"
"She died." He said looking me straight in the eyes.
"Please don't tell me there was another fire."
"No, she was hit by a drunk driver on her way home from work. She was a religion teacher."
"Hmm. Chris?"
"Yeah?"
"How the hell did they got the money for the bank and the Lancas Palace? I just don't get it." I asked Chris, trying to figure things out in my head without succeeding.
"She. How did she got the money is what you're actully asking me. Alexander isn't the co-owner of anything."
"Wait, so he gave her his part?" I asked confused.
"No, Harry. More like she gave him nothing. She is the CEO of the bank and she is the official owner of the LP. He basically owns nothing."
"Does he have a job then?"
