Adrienne’s POV
I dropped him home and then went home.
My plan was to go downtown and have a mocha Frappuccino at Starbucks, but also clear my head with a walk down the park. But because of the awful weather, I guess I’ll have to bring an umbrella with me every step I take.
I changed from my work clothes into some skinny jeans, a plain white t-shirt, converse sneakers and a thin raincoat. Also I shoved my phone, money, house key and Starbucks card into my pockets, almost forgetting my umbrella I picked it up and walked out my house.
To walk downtown would only take around 8 minutes, but because I am tired and feel like shit; it's gonna take around 15 minutes.
I arrived at Starbucks and join the short queue at the entrance of the small coffee shop.
The aroma of the small café can probably take you away to another dimension and make you feel free in a bath full of coffee beans which tickle every inch of your sk-
I was cut off by a guy called ‘Ashton’ asking me for my order.
‘Can I have a venti mocha Frappuccino please? And can I also have a slice of lemon cake. Thank you.’ I still haven’t had my lunch or dinner yet and I am too tired to cook or even stand so cake would do for now.
‘Can I have a name please?’
‘Adrienne.’
He gave me the ‘how do you spell that’ look.
‘A-D-R-I-E-N-N-E.’
He wrote my name down how I spelt it and complimented it, also adding a heart to the end of my name.
‘Would you like cream on your drink? Eat in or take away?’
I nodded and said ‘eat in’.
‘That will be £5.65 please.’
I paid for what I bought and made my way to an empty table which had two seats. I then waited until my name got called and then grabbed my plate of cake.
I literally savoured the moment of the drink running down through my throat, the cold sensation can take you away from anything. In other words, it was delicious.
I sat there scrolling the feed of my Instagram and stuffing my face with the lemon cake that I bought a few moments ago.
Ashton came up to my table and asked if the seat infront of me was occupied, but because it wasn’t obviously I shook my head. Shouldn’t he be working though?
‘Shouldn’t you be working?’
‘Oh, you talk! Haha.’ He chuckled nervously and scratched the back of his head. ‘No I've finished my shift for tonight.’
‘Why aren’t you going home?’ That was a bit rude of me to ask.
‘I'm guessing that’s my queue to leave then, sorry to bothe-‘
I cut him off by standing up and saying, ‘No, don’t do that. I was just asking. I mean I'm not that approachable, just chill.’ I half-heartedly smiled.
We talked for a long time I scrapped my plan of going to the park, so when I was about to head home we exchanged numbers, also it turns out he and Calum were best friends. The world is really a small place.
On my way home it was dark and still a bit rainy but I survived it, I unlocked and opened my front door and was greeted by a note saying
‘Meet me at the park.
5AM.
Tomorrow morning.
Alone’
Ok.
Who the fuck goes into people’s homes and does that?
I mean we have a letter box for a fucking reason, wait… Is my TV still here?
Phew. The only thing that has changed in my house is the note appearing and a few items of clothing and food being stolen.
No one takes my food.
I'm finding out who did that.
And they better pay.
