I can hear the crackling of the sky

And the raindrops clattering against my bedroom window.

And in a way I find comfort in it all.

It gives me peace.

The flickering light from the lightning, lighting everything up for a second

To then leave it in complete darkness again.

It reminds me of you.

You lit my world up for a split second

And then you left me standing there,

Empty,

In a dark room.

And just like people crave to see another lightning bolt,

I craved you.

But just like with those lightning bolts,

Nothing happens when you look,

It's when you turn around the real action happens.

And as quickly as we can, we turn back around, only to catch a glimp.

So we wait,

And wait

And wait,

And we know that is over, but still we wait.

And as the gray clouds leave our broken sky, we can see clearer.

It's over,

It has passed.

So we let go.

But the raindrops are like memories,

They are left and remind you of what has happened.

They cling onto everything.

Until, after a fair amount of time, they dry up.

Because it has been to long since they saw the flickering light.

And the sun is finally emerging from behind the clouds.
