"Good morning world..." I mumble out on the balcony. The sun was rising, but the dark clouds were rushing to cover up the light, crawling through the skies. I let out a sigh, not bothering to do my usual routine, closing the door behind me. I light the fire and place the pan over, grabbing two eggs out of the refrigerator and some diced ham and whole bacon. The ingredients sizzle in the pan as a stir them over and over with my wooden spatula. Thanks to Ruby, Adam, and Amber, I have more furniture than I ever did want. But who am I to complain?

Oh wait yes I am. Because the people that currently saved my butt from an antisocial lifestyle aren't going to be in my life because today is my last day. I sigh as I turn back to my eggs and bacon only to find it burnt to a black... something? As stingy as I am, I had to throw it away and I gently placed my pan in the sink and went to wash my hands.

I enter my small bathroom, wash my delicate hands, and stare into the mirror. I've been mulling over decisions for the past twelve hours, leading to my lack of sleep and bags under my eyes. I sigh again, satisfied with my semi-clean self and lay on top of my sleeping bag. I spread my arms and legs, staring at the ceiling in deep thought.

Today is my last day at the café. I will make it count. I mean even though I'm not working there doesn't mean I won't be close to them... right? I could still visit them after work or during break. Of course I can! The hospital and the café are so close to each other! Oh... but what if they hire someone to replace me? What happens if that person just completely replaces me? Will they forget me?

All these random questions bombard my mind as I twist and turn in a frenzy like a ten year old child throwing a fit over which candy she should buy at the store. I toss and turn until I finally get up to fix my hair and change into my work clothes. When I feel about ready to go to work, I turn to my clock to check the time only to be told that it was barely 7:01 AM. I still had more than an hour before even heading off to work and I couldn't handle it!

I set an alarm for thirty minutes to doze off and I laid down in my sleeping bag, quickly drifting off...

Piano Riff Alarm.

"Jesus Christ, what time is it?" I turn off my alarm and look to the clock. Well would you look at that. Only this would happen to most people. I have twenty minutes to get ready and rush to the cafe because, oh I don't know? I woke up at 8:10 AM!!!

It is then I realized.

"Wait a minute, I'm already dressed and ready to go, I just need to fix my hair."

I quickly brush out my hair and put it back in a clean ponytail and rush out with my usual items, including my apartment keys, cause dear god only knows what would happen if I lost them... (0.0)

I rush down the stairs and to the sidewalk, speed walking my way to the crosswalk. I wait for the sign to say walk and as it soon as it does, I sprint. I run into the cafe, the bell ringing once again, signaling my arrival. I pant in and out heavily, attempting to catch my breath.

"You alright there Hazel?" Adam asks with worry. "You look like you ran from some Zombies or something."

"Well no matter how I feel I still need to get to work so if you'll excuse me Mr. Bern, I must go to my station and prepare what I need to work efficiently." I retort back. I really didn't need him to make fun of me for waking up so late.

"Your form of speech literally changed from sassy to informal to slightly formal to extremely adult like. And you did that in a sentence." He says in a shocked manner.

"Well we are both adults, so we really should be acting and conversing our age. Don't you think?"

"Well truthfully," He starts as he slides to the other side of me, leaning back against the counter. "I think that it doesn't matter what age we are, so we act the way we act. It shows our true personalities. Don't you think?" He says.

"Oh, you're good at this." I comment.

"There's other things I'm good at too." He wiggles his eyebrows.

"I don't get it." I answer. I really don't get what he is saying. Honestly. "What do you mean?"

He laughs a deep laugh, one that you could hear is genuine. "Never mind Hazel, you're too innocent. Not like you're gonna stay that way though, people are bad influences."

"Oh you mean like you?" I roast him, slightly.

"Ouch, that hurt me." He says. "Right here." And he pats the left side of his chest.

"Ew, you're too cliché. Now please, get out of my way." I say with a smirk, walking past him and into the kitchen. His mouth open for any fly to fly in.

Surprisingly, my last day of work wasn't busy. In fact, we hardly had enough business to even call it rush hour. I finished my dishes around 1:00PM. Adam stopped brewing around 12:30 PM. Amber stopped cooking around 12:00 and Ruby discontinued running around since 12:45 PM.

It seemed as if no one was going to come in anytime soon so we all went to the front and sat down at our table. We each took our respective, classic, wooden chairs.

"Soo, today wasn't busy for some reason." Ruby slides in.

"Yeah, I know! Did something happen or what's up?" I question.

"I honestly wouldn't know, so don't look at me." Amber puts her hands up in the air. We all turn to Adam, glares in our eyes.

"What did you do?" I squint my eyes.

"I have no idea what you are talking about!" He puts his hands in the air too, hesitantly. Beads of sweat building on his forehead, indicating that he is the culprit of our non-productive fiasco. I tackle him, pushing him onto the ground. My eyes pleading him for an answer, my hair falling loose, and my hands on his chest as I practically sit on his stomach. "Today is my last day of work Adam, and you know it! The last thing I want is for something 'special' to happen because I only wanted a normal work day! How could you make it seem like this!" Tears welling up in my eyes for some random reason.

"Hey are you okay Hazel? I am being serious I didn't do anything... It was the gang wars around the neighborhood..." I quickly look into his eyes to confirm that he is telling the truth.

"Gang... wars?" My voice coming out just a little strangled.

"Yeah, they are currently fighting over territory, I just didn't want to tell any of you because I didn't want any of you to freak out. But you guys figured it out so we might as well go to some safe ground soon." He places his hand behind his neck, sitting up as I still clutch on to his shirt.

"Let's just go to my apartment, it's on pretty high ground and we will most likely see the fight occur." I offer. I get up and walk out with the apron, a token of my time here. Amber, Ruby, and Adam follow suit with their bags of clothes for at least three days, locking up the shop, which I have officially noticed has bulletproof glass. Coincidentally, the clouds roll in to cover the bright sun and blue skies from the dreaded future, with dark looming clouds, rain just about ready to pour down.

We walk into the apartment complex and walk up to the fifth floor. I grab my keys from my belt and open the door, expecting to see bland walls and my little bit of furniture. But, what I saw, was not what I was expecting to see at all.

"Hazel, who did this?" Adam asks in concern.

We stare at the ground, littered with rocks covered with notes. I pick one up to read its contents, only to throw it out the window he broke.

"You couldn't have possibly thought you could escape from me. You are mine and no one else's. Mia. I am coming after you."
